I have 36 points. Is this some kind of record?

The other issue with SS and Carolina is that they had no one to take the heat off him.  At least the Ravens have a reputable running game and a few capable receivers to draw protection from Smith.

I expect Smith has peaked as defenses will adjust to him, but he could be the kind of roster pick up that makes a season.

Thing about Steve Smith and Carolina though is... who have they got now to replace him? Hell, who have they gotten in the many years since Muhammed broke down that has been able to take the heat off of him? I'm of the opinion that if you can't replace a guy like that with someone that is at least as good (or has the potential to be), then you keep him around unless you are ready to do a complete tear down and rebuild. Which they clearly weren't because they started that when they drafted Cam.

The freak athlete running QB's are all starting to show the limits of their college skillset (Kap, Newton, RGIII). The difference between them and what Russell Wilson does is that Wilson is a pocket passer first, who can run your ass off if you let him. He's turning out to be a lot more Aaron Rodgers (who can also run when you give him the chance but it isn't the main feature of his game) than Michael Vick, which is a good thing.

There's always QB options in a draft. You just have to be willing to wait for the right moment, and for a guy who has "questions" usually over stupid shit to fall into the late first or second round.

Teddy Bridgewater is a great recent example. Also known as a sort of mobile guy, but not really since he's moving to pass. Not to run.

The backlash against running QBs has started, and Carolina backed the wrong horse. Now they have to fix it or languish in "just okay" while getting no good draft picks or getting bounced in the playoffs.

Agree with the above.

I also read today that Steve Smith was ousted because he was causing drama in the locker room about Cam being god awful.

That amuses me since it would fit with the Carolina issue of not admitting there is a problem with that team. Instead, just get rid of the guy speaking the truth.  why so serious?

I am actually considering starting Romo over Brees.  Brees has under-achieved in every game so far this year.  Even his home games have sucked.

That's dumb and I'll tell you why. Dallas is facing Houston, so they will likely run like crazy since Houston is struggling with the run right now.

NOLA is facing Tampa going on the road, probably the worst defense in the league short of the Jags.

Well of course it's dumb!  It isn't like I will actually do it, unless a specific match-up forces my hand.  It was more a commentary on how unhappy I am with the constant underachievement of my team.  4 weeks, haven't met projections once.

Yeah, the only reason I started him this week was because Russell Wilson was on a bye. Not this week. Brady can ride the pine.

Brady killed me in my other league. I lost by 0.03.  That last INT did me in.

Someone talk me out of starting Asiata over Lacy in my PPR local league.

Stupid Thursday night games.

Two words: Jerick McKinnon.  He will cut into Asiata's productivity.   Then again, I don't think I'd want Lacy either.

Minnesota's defense is pretty shitty and so is the Packers. So I'm not sure you can go wrong on either count.

We'll see, I have a massive Tight End issue after I went all-in on Niles Paul and he got concussed to complete the set with Jordan Reed on my bench.

In another league I'm in, people keep dropping marquis players.  I picked up Julius Thomas, Jordan Cameron and Zac Stacy last week, and this week I have claims in currently for Jeremy Maclin and Alshon Jeffrey.  Crabtree is there for the taking as well.  It's amazing.

E: Actually, it's appalling.  I'm 1-3 in that league.

Here's a tough question: Who would you use in a W/R flex spot:  Ahmad Bradshaw or Wes Welker?

Bradshaw if he's playing, personally.  Walker is fragile and is their 4th option right now.

I didn't see this until after the noon games started.  I went with Welker.  Let's see if I regret it.

FWIW, I chose Welker because while AZ has good corners, they are weak in the middle of the field where Welker shines.

Pretty sure I responded too late, anyway.  Bradshaw didn't do much, so you might be fine.

Ended up a push.  Looks like it really didn't matter.

Yegolev is beating me by 50 points, but I've still got Mike Nugent in my pocket.  I'm confident I've got this one.

I barely beat Rasix's team he gave up on.

Which was in doubt for a while. If I'd lost I might have just quit too.

No thanks to Megatron -- wrong league but it bears mention.  All thanks to Demarius and Brian Quick, with some Gostkowski on the end.  I dropped Brady in the other league, freeing him up to actually score two TDs this week.  YOU'RE WELCOME PATS.

Giving up on KC defense as well, at least in the Phildo League.

Not one of my skill players had a TD this week in that league.  Well, Matt Ryan threw one to pair with his interception.  The Patriots defense missed being my highest-scoring position by less than 2 points.
