D3 toons to receive a buff for a week.

Double rift fragments, and "a +100% boost to their chance to find Legendary items". They said +100% instead of just "double", so I'm inclined to think the math isn't so simple.

Still, the buffs start on May 15 and go for a week. Happy Anniversary!

I assume +100% means that if you have a 5% chance now, you'll have a 10% chance after.

Why am I homeless?  Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question.

I'm sure that's what it means. I wish it was a flat 10% for the week. Unf unf.

+100% means rifts have triple the legendary drop rate instead of quadrupled.

Ran a bunch of rifts with friends and random four person groups over the weekend.  Was pulling about 3 to 4 legendaries (though that includes legendary/set recipies) per run.

Ditto, except for an almost perfect Xbow.

Then I put some more Legendaries into my bag to diss for a reroll of the only stat on the xbow that wasn't awesome.

And yes, I then disenchanted the xbow by mistake.

My weekend was RUINED.

Drops were - as always- dependent on how the RNG gods feel for you that moment.  I was running Sunday morning and the first group I had I got 6 legendaries and 3 recipes.  Then I switched to my monk and my luck dried out, not a single legendary in 3 rifts.  I was waiting for Lan to join me to try more but it got to be 1 and I had to do yardwork.

That evening, same story.  Ran a few on the monk and Nada.

It's going to suck to go back to regular drop rates.

We were joking about passing around the lucky dice. With the three or four of us playing together all weekend, half of the time it seemed like normal, ie almost nothing dropped. But the other half of the time one (and only one) of us got drops right and left, off every elite, from corpses, cache, etc, for a half hour, then back to nothing. Half an hour later it started raining orange and green on someone else. Each of us had a couple bouts of incredible luck, and long periods of drought.  They are defitely monkeying with the RNG, and I too am not looking forward to it going back to "normal".

There's nothing funnier than standing in pools of shite when you have 3 bits of blackthornes and that set downing ring.

Especially watching others run around avoiding it.

I got shit this weekend.  If anything my dice were even more unlucky.  The quantity wasn't there, but at least I got a quality main hand drop for my crusader (Fate of the Fell).   The rest was mostly garbage, except for another cindercloak, I could perhaps give to my wizard.

Grouping with Ingmar was gross.  I got at most one legendary per run, while he was pulling around 4.   Mob

The Countess had the lucky dice last night. Her 60 Crusader got a Ring of Royal Grandeur (the set completing one). Then her 70 DH got a Cindercoat AND another royal ring AND an uber crossbow!

Meanwhile my 52-to-57 Wiz got a level 60 coat of some kind. LOL But I played less than half as much too.

So the doubled drop rates affect caches also?

No, not from my understanding. Purely affects the drop rate from monsters.

It feels like it increases the drop rate from chests and other in-world containers too.

fairly certain it applies to the Puzzle Ring treasure goblin.   Completely anecdotal evidence to support: Out of 2 drops i got from him yesterday, one was a legendary.

Too lazy to look it up, but I'm fairly sure the patch notes listed some buffs to the puzzle ring goblin

   Puzzle Ring

The goblins have been scouring Sanctuary for better loot to drop:

            Legendary drop chance doubled
Rare items dropped will now always have six affixes

The counter for picking up normal-quality items will now persist through death, act transitions, and un-equipping the item

It still will not persist across game sessions

The goblin will now play a sound when its counter reaches max and it drops an item

Hello folks,

I come bearing exciting news. Due to the overwhelming popularity of our Anniversary buff we have decided to keep the increased Legendary drop rate once the Anniversary celebration ends. Once the buff is disabled tomorrow morning, you will find that the new base line drop rates for Legendary items will be the same as those you have all enjoyed for the last week.

Happy hunting and link the loot!

Double rift fragments are going away, but who give a shit about those
