He directed my all-time favourite bittersweet comedy, "Groundhog Day": a movie you could watch a lot of times and always spot new things.

Rest in peace.

It's funny, with all the great work he did through his life, I'll always remember him on SCTV foremost. Ah, being a young impressionable stoner.

Stripes is one of my favorite comedies of all time.

Everyone should make it to at least 70, a shame.

Don't even mention Aykroyd.

This just sucks.

Ghostbusters, Stripes, Groundhog Day, Meatballs, Caddyshack, Animal House. That's a hell of a record.

Aykroyd's craziness has taken a lot of the shine off his light for me.

Murray to me is 100x more important than Aykroyd ever could be.

What a bizarre disease he had.  Your body attacks your own veins and arteries.  It makes your blood vessels narrow and your organs become starved for oxygen.  Evidently his sort was rather rare.  He only had it for two years before it killed him.  :(  I really did like him and his work a lot.  I wish he'd died quietly in his sleep at the ripe old age of 92 whilst dreaming of what ever it is that made him smile the most.

What a shame.  He always seemed to fly under the radar but you could tell he often was the brains of the outfit.

RIP sir.  Thanks for the great movies.
