Not like the sale was anything to write home about really...they did away with the flash sales and such thanks to the new refund policy. Whatever was for sale at the start is what it was going to be until the end.

Still, new players enter the PC market every year. It's nice to have sales like these to keep things going, reminisce about days gone by, and maybe pickup a triple A title that we missed from a year or two ago.

2K weekend sale, wow, lots of titles I want to get...but I'm in the limited time bunch...money it okay, time sucks. Also Sunless Sea looks pretty fun or at least interesting to try out. I'll probably complete my Borderlands collection and get Borderlands The Pre-Sequel with the season pass since I don't have it. Sid Meier's Pirates is cheap too, along with a bunch of his other games.

Jet Set Radio and Golden Axe (and Hell Yeah!) are free on Steam right now, just go to the page of any one of those, pick the free option, click "install game" and it will add them all to your account at once. This is part of the current 'Make War Not Love 3" promotion. You'll find Golden Axe in your library under "SEGA Genesis & Mega Drive Classics."

I think Streets of Rage II will get the same treatment in 40 hours or so.

Borderlands is 80% off for the weekend. Noteworthy because the generic $19.95 pack with all three games actually gets prorated by the games you own. Thus I got the pre-sequal for $4.80 vs the $15.99 they were asking for a standalone copy. If other publishers would let you prorate bundles I would be far more inclined to give them my money.

YEah I saw that. I never got into Borderlands in the first place so I'm going to give the original a go this weekend and decide if I can lose the $5.

I would honestly suggest just starting with 2; the first one is decent but 2 is a leaps and bounds improvement.

Thanks for the tip, that's quite a tempting price to pick that one up.

I suppose it depends.  I mean, if you've never played Assassin's Creed or Far Cry before, then I assume you have some reason, they're not exactly obscure.  I personally find most of Ubisoft's catalog pretty fun if you get the "all the DLC included" edition a year after all the launch day horrors have been patched out.  So just about everything save AC: Syndicate, Far Cry: Primal, and maybe R6: Siege and Far Cry 4 depending on where your "meh, why not" bar is set.

Is there something specific you're wondering about?  There's like a hundred games listed, kind of hard to give opinions on all of them.

I thoroughly enjoyed Far Cry 4. If you waited until the summer sale I'm sure it would be cheaper than $20 though.

I wanted to like Far Cry 3 and mechanically I like it ok, but someone stuck their MMOG dick in my FPS and shit the whole thing up with gated content, crafting and shitty fetch/hunt quests.

Warhammer Vermintide is 40% off until Sunday night, but more importantly it's free to play (free to try) for the same time.

Paradox Publisher Sale this weekend.

Stellaris is 20% off, but they have many older titles with 60% or 75% discounts.

So apparently Steam is doing its own Humble Bundles nowadays...

Right now you can buy a shitton of classic Sierra games 91% off for like $20, less if you already own some of them. This has all the King's / Police / Space Quests and Quest for Glory series, Arcanum, Krondor series (though I don't know if the sequels are worth playing), Phantasmagoria, a bunch of strategy games like Caesar etc and some new shit I don't recognize (there's a new King's Quest, and it's episodic? wut?). Probably a good deal for de-disking, esp. if you don't own the games on GOG already.

Haven't had a chance to play it yet. I liked the original, and this is supposed to be an HD remastering with some added content, so I am going to give it a shot.

From what I understand, it's basically Fable: The Lost Chapters (meaning, the original Fable with some bonus maps and stuff) with HD models and textures and some purchaseable DLC armor and stuff.  Also, unlike Anniversary, I think TLC doesn't have controller support for some baffling reason.  On the down side, Anniversary is like $35 normally to TLC's $10 (though it's on sale now so they cost basically the same at the moment), it's somewhat glitchy (and unlikely to ever be patched) and I've heard a lot of complaining that the "upgraded" graphics make the game look worse.

It's not as pretty as the new one, but it's a way better game.  The single player campaign is actually pretty fun as well.

Oh I played the heck out of it but lost the cd's years ago. I have some hopes for the new one, but probably won't be as good. Galactic War mode was the shit. Nothing like it being 20 to 1 at the end but you've just gotten the Jedi upgrade...
