Are any of these worth picking up? - http://store.steampowered.com/sale/roguelike

FTL is pretty good if you're in to sci fi at all.
Spelunky is fun, if you've never played it before there's an old freeware version out that you can test drive.
Rogue Legacy is pretty decent, IMO, not anything I regret buying but not really outstanding.  Eldritch falls in that category, too, but gets a few bonus points for Lovecraft.
Risk of Rain, Delver, Cargo Commander, and Dungeons of Dredmor, I played but they didn't really hook me.  I've heard Rain gets better over time, but it wasn't my thing.

Necrodancer and Sunless Sea are supposed to be pretty good but I haven't played them myself.

Abyss Odyssey is technically a fushigi no dungeon.

Technically also a side-scroller, which means it feels absolutely NOTHING like Fushigi no Dungeon.

Agreed.  The aesthetics are the main reason to get it, I think.  The gameplay didn't grab me, but it sure is fun to look at.

Call of Juarez Gunslinger is on sale again.  I highly recommend it.  Basically, its a 1st person shooter set in the old west where you play a character that is chasing after a bounty while running into famous people from that time like Billy the Kid and Jesse James.  It's pretty short (I finished it in less than 6 hours) but at this price ($3.74 CDN) its well worth it.  Plus its probably the only Ubisoft game without Uplay.

Sounds like a vastly overlooked (at least by me) game. I am getting it, thanks for the tip.

So now the ANCIENT x-wing/tie games are up on Steam, May 4th sale...10%? C'mon, man.

I might be willing to attempt to get it working with a controller for a buck or two, but $9 for an out-dated relic? Wow.

I picked up X- Wing Alliance INSTANTLY. They are so good that I realized it's insane they haven't remade them yet. Especially now that Space "sims" are popular again, I am 99% sure that EA/Disney are cooking up the next version in glorious HD (and sadly ships for sale a la Chris Roberts).

Anyway, fantastic games, and work well on our PCs (they fiddled with the .exe to make it more reliable on todays' computers), but don't forget they don't even start without a joystick/joypad.

I'm with Falc, they're still some of the best space flight sims out there. I bought them a few months ago without a discount and my 11 year old son was in heaven. He finally got to fly X-wings and Ties.

Worth the price to get them running again on a Win7 box, IMO.

Didn't say I didn't want em, or that it's not worth it for the gog-ization.

Just that everything else was like 70% off.

Actually I'm happy because the last thing I need is another awesome game to suck away my time I'm looking at you Just Cause 3

Do yourself a favour and LISTEN to this good man. I've had it in my wishlist for a long time, and finally I bought it today through Humble Bundle: they're running a Spring Sale, and Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is on sale again for € 3.74:
https://www.humblebundle.com/store/p/callofjuarez_gunslinger_storefront

It's SO funny and engaging although, yes, quite arcade-style (LOL, from time to time, while taking aim and watching enemies come out for cover, it actually reminded me of good ol' "Mad Dog McCree" at the arcades).

I think that, while it lacks of course the weapon variation and scope in general compared to Borderlands, it has nice replayiability because you'll soon realize how too old for this shit you've actually become, but at the same time you'll really want to have more of a "clean sheet" insteading of being shoot zillions of times (stats at the end of the level help on this regard).

Great game.

Distant Worlds on sale...

http://store.steampowered.com/app/261470/

The Devs had apparently previously been heavily against any discounting and kept the price pretty high, but now are putting it on sale for the 1 year anniversary.

The Detail is 66% off for a short while, which means about 2 euros.

It's a Finland-made Hard Boiled Police game that works like a Telltale game and a bit of a visual novel and choose your adventure, witl less money but plenty of style and hard topics. Well narrated and engaging. Give 'em 2 money.

IGN reports the Steam Summer sale starts June 11, runs until the 20th then some encore days.

Probably not accurate, but it should be soon anyway.

Considering the last few sales have been very underwhelming, I'd say it's a non-event.

I really enjoyed it, but it made me long for a VR helmet to check the mirrors and side windows. I prefer to drive with the gamepad, so maybe a keyb/mouse experience would be better with the mouselook.

LISA, a strange RPG, is 50% off for a few more hours. About 5€. Check it out. I think it's great, mostly because it's sad and depressing.

Invisible Inc is 40% off, has just had more stuff patched in, and is generally a good thing.

"bit convoluted" to say the least  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

Anyway, I've just completed all the steps and it works. Nothing fishy going on', as far as I can tell.

EDIT: The only thing this whole process will force you to do, is link the "Playfire" service to Steam (if you decide to unlink it, you'll have to mail the Playfire CS, no way around it). AFAIK, beside privacy issues and whatnot, you just can forget about it, it should do no harm.

Way too much :effort:, just wait for it to be $4 on Steam or acquire it elsewhere.
