Welcome to middle-age, good luck in your battle against entropy.  I'm resolving not to act my age.

I've lost like 30+ pounds in the last year or so. I haven't been this light since before college. My goal is actually to gain about 10 pounds. Previous to that I had put on about 20 pounds, so I lost all that then another 10.

Edit: The jeans that I'm wearing now at one point I couldn't fit into without really squeezing, and I couldn't put my wallet or keys in my pockets without struggling. Now they are falling off and I had to poke a hole in my belt past the furthest hole. At the airport when I had to take my belt off my pants and my underwear started to fall off.

1. Finish More and Worry Less
2. 1 full marathon and 2 half's (finished 1 in 2013)

1. Find a career I actually care about.

This.  It's a challenging one.  No comment on the getting married, except find a partner who can independently support themselves.

And Ghost, are you emigrating or going back to school?  Good luck everyone in 2014.

I made two this year: find a family doctor and get my eyes checked/glasses updated (its been four or five years).

Already did number two. Yay getting old! Went from a simple prescription in just one eye for my astigmatism, to full on progressives. I'm sure glad those Boxing Week sales brought them down to just $484.00.

Sigh.

I am looking forward to being able to see again though. It was looking at the detail on a mini recently that made me realize just how much up close vision I'd lost in the last couple years.

He's effectively married already, just not officially married. It should probably say "2. Finally pay for a wedding".  tongue

As Ing points out, the missus and I have been together for 9.5 years. It's mostly the wedding part. And yes, we know about Vegas and Courthouses, we want a party.

As for the career, I have a couple things in mind with a hopeful look towards the craft beer industry in some capacity. Still, going back to school is likely to have something to fall back on.

it's also very likely that we move in the calendar 2014 year.

I'll also get $200 of what I paid back from my extended medical at work.

More orgasms.  No, I did not count my orgasms in 2013.  I just know I want the number to stay flat or increase as I age.  I hit 45 last year, the kids are becoming more independent and my wife is still awesome in the sack if I can just get things started.

I have never played WoW.

I'm tired of people saying "what?" to me all the time so I resolve not to ramble on and on and on until I lose my train of thought and become twitchy and confused and end up sounding like a bloody mental patient what has no gorm.
What?

For me:
1.) No soda.
2.) No fried.
3.) No candy.
4.) Finish the backyard project by the end of the year.

I'm just a bit stranged out that someone so happy in a relationship for so long would want to muck it up by getting married.   why so serious?

Day four of walking/hiking more, and I'm starting to get into a groove.  Does anyone have any recommendations on a fitness or walking app on iOS?  I'm looking currently at Argus, but I'm not sure how good it is.

I'm not a fitness person but I want to start looking at the numbers more.  I think it will make me more accountable for getting off my butt.

United States. Just tired of being surrounded by our broken political system and other bullshit. It'd be nice to be surrounded by some other country's bullshit for a while, if only to remind me how good we have it here.

That works well for actual distance, but I generally just google maps for distance and log it that way.

I've kinda gone full reductionist on tracking. To be honest, I find most apps and tech devices to be fine momentarily, but not good for the long haul. Either they get bought out, crash, something goes wonky at the wrong time during a data sync event, whatever. Things go quirky and you generally don't have a clean way to override the automated data.

So instead, I rely mostly on a simple Notes app to track everything I eat and whatever exercise I did that day (treadmill lately, but sometimes my bike set up on a stationary rig, road jogging or actual biking). I don't even use Evernote anymore. I'll use a Note app and then transpose it to my Google Spreadsheet each week. Nothing fancy. On purpose.

Runkeeper does more than just tracks distance. I am confused as to what you are looking for in a "fitness or walking app" as pretty much all of them are similar.

I have a Fitbit that I wear to track steps + activity + sleeping pattern. Seems to work well, but doesn't capture distance via GPS (if that's what you are looking for) - it does calculate a distance by stride length and does an approximate calorie burn based on activity. It can be synced with other apps for tracking calorie intake too (such as My Fitness Pal).

I was exhausted at number three.  I can help you with number nine, though.  I am the anti-collector.  I hate collecting things.  Especially things that get dusty.  If I see something lying around for too long, I want to throw it out.  In fact, I'm in the process of making a Good Will box of clothing I haven't worn for more than a couple of years.  What you do is hire some thug to rob your house when you're not there and take all the crap you've collected.  Then you have a clean house and get some  insurance money which will help you with number five.

I thought that up myself.

Canada is still largely good, though you can point to obvious examples of American political stupidity leaking across the border.

And my resolution has folded.  Finally saw the waitress I had my eye on again, even got seated in her section, but she was sporting a lovely engagement ring this time.  Ce la vie.

Bah, that sucks.
