One of these times it'll stick! It made money in the past! It's still a pop culture icon!

Tsk. There is more out there than Youtube. For example Dailymotion:

I think that's the trailer from last year's Comic*Con, not the one sickrubik was trying to post.

Don't know, but it didn't look too bad.  Monster looked like Godzilla, had the proper Godzilla roar and I thought the Oppenheimer recording was a nice touch.  Just keep giant mechs out of it, thank you.

Over and out.

Has a nice visual style in the teaser at least. Plus seems to imply that they get the idea pretty well. Certainly better than the hideous previous attempt at a remake.

Cloverfield in LA without the shakycam. I'm in.

Tuned in, immediately get to watch cringey Ubisoft talking head offering her deepest sympathies to the families impacted by the Orlando shooting while flanked by a man in a giraffe suit and some sort of "horrifically garish neon costumes through the ages" exhibit or something.  We need to stop this fucking planet right now and sort some shit out. -Kail

Looks like Godzilla fighting monsters and utterly fucking up a city in the process which looks good.  Expect that to be 10min in a 120min movie about a plucky teen coming of age.

Which one is the teen?

The synopsis says that Godzilla will be fighting "malevolent creatures" which honestly sounds less interesting than Godzilla rampaging across a city.

Over and out.

That sounds like a Godzilla flick to me! The city just gets stomped in the process.

I always thought the first Godzilla was far superior to the monster vs monster Godzillas.  That first one was a cautionary allegory, all the rest were just professional wrestling matches.

But that was just one movie out of a shit ton.  Godzilla movies are about a giant lizard that fights other giant monsters, period.

Besides, they already made the movie your looking for.

Godzilla didn't fight any monsters in the original.  I say bring this film on!  I hope he bites a skyscraper in half.

...and then uses it as a bat, so that the berets around here can sperg about how a movie about impossible monsters is ignoring too much of physics to be believable. why so serious?

I thought the first one was about how nuclear weapons are evil. Oh sorry that was the Japanese version, not the english one. ALL OTHER GODZILLAS ARE SUSPECT!!

And at least no Godsilla movie had a Mecha being piloted by people trying to save the japan from a rampaging monster Oh wait

Yes yes I know someone already made that joke about Mechagodzilla. This is different. ITS KING GIDORAH!!

Heh, San Francisco seems to be the new trendy city to destroy in monster movies.

The Golden Gate is one of the few things you can destroy in a movie that everyone in America will recognize. Pretty much it's that, Mount Rushmore, the World Trade Center, the Hollywood sign, or the White House for domestic locations.

Maybe the (Wesley) Willis Tower (nee The Sears Tower) in Chicago or Times Square, but I'm not sure about those.
