We were ready. Steam's servers were not.

Steam is, as usual on the first day of a sale, getting skullfucked.

I'm afraid to buy anything because apparently you can earn discounts through cards as well? Or would those be 'full price' discounts so I shouldn't worry?

Call of Juarez
Mars
Endless Space
Hotline Miami
Scribblenauts

Yeah, but $35.99 for Skyrim + DLC isn't bad

Half off Dragonborn for Skyrim isn't bad, however.  I might do that.

What hte hell?  When I posted that it wasn't the legendary edition, it was the regular edition (no DLC) for $20.

Actually a lot of prices and stuff are still changing.  Don't starve is 40% off now instead of 20%.

DA:O Ultimate $9
CSGO $5

Daily:

Bioshock Infinite $30
Hotline Miami $2.50
Call of Juarez Gunslinger $10
Endless Space $10
MARS $13.39
L4D2 $5
Toki Tori 2 $10

Somebody explain this trading card shit to me.

You get cards for time playing certain games. You get 4 cards at random when you play that game enough. They go into your inventory. There are 8 cards in each set. You can never get more than 4 cards from that game by playing it. You have to trade cards with your friends or on the marketplace to get the rest. Completing sets of 8 gives you an xp bonus and increases your "Steam Level" which unlocks cosmetic features in your account.

The more sets you complete, the more likely you are to get a random booster pack in a week. A booster pack has 3 random cards in it.

Don't you qualify to get the booster packs once you hit the 4/8 cards each game?

Also, once you get all 8 from a game, you can craft them into a summer card, I guess now. Before it was a MYSTERY CARD.

And then.. stuff happens...

It was already silly, now it's just convoluted.

Yeah...I still don't understand the Summer card stuff and now the store is down so I can't dig into it more. You get cards for buying stuff and then you make another card that gives you a badge? Or something?

Yeah you get eligible after 4 cards.

Quote
Once you have received all of your card drops, you become eligible for a booster pack, which is a set of 3 trading cards that may include both basic and foil cards. Booster packs are granted randomly to eligible users as more badges are crafted by members of the community. Make sure you log in to Steam each week to maintain eligibility.

Once eligible, your Steam Level increases your rate of receiving a booster pack drop:

Level 10: +20% increase in your drop rate
Level 20: +40% increase in your drop rate
Level 30: +60% increase in your drop rate
Level 40: +80% increase in your drop rate
Level 50: +100% increase in your drop rate (i.e. the rate has doubled)
    Etc.

That's what I meant by the level thing increasing your odds.

Don't Starve is worth $10 imo. There's also a pretty great community at their official forums with a decent amount of mods and what not.

Yeah, some prices are changing and for Skyrim the normal edition was on the front page but the legendary edition was on sale as well when you went to the Skyrim page. I do hope teh price changing isn't normal though.
