Asking for or giving anything cool? Post it here! We all need ideas.

***

I got a micro RC helicopter for my birthday a couple of weeks ago:  http://www.horizonhobby.com/products/msr-x-rtf-BLH3200
(beginner version: http://www.horizonhobby.com/products/blade-mcx2-rtf-EFLH2400)

I asked for Rocksmith and a new down coat.

What to get the wife? No idea.

Need something for a friend/co-worker/3rd-cousin? Some interesting stuff here: http://www.uncommongoods.com/

I should get back to nature, too.  You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer.  Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached.  Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

How will we know what to buy on Black Friday if we don't talk about it now?!?

Thinking about getting one of these for someone:

Cool concept, but an always-on Bluetooth device may be murder on your battery life. May wanna check reviews.

I asked for Rocksmith
Right on, me too. Only thing I'm asking for, really. But I was nagged to make a list anyway.

Cowboy Songs (Guitar Chord Songbooks) by Hal Leonard Corp.
THREE CHORD SONGS: GUITAR CHORD SONGBOOK (Guitar Chord Songbooks) by Hal Leonard Corp.
Backpackers Songbook by Hal Leonard Corp.
Classic Rock: Drum Play-Along Volume 2 by Hal Leonard Corp.
Funk: Drum Play-Along Volume 5 (Hal Leonard Drum Play-Along) by Hal Leonard Corp.
Introduction to Gypsy Jazz Guitar: John Jorgenson (Book/CD/DVD Set) by John Jorgenson
Ultimate Bass Play-Along Rush: Authentic Bass TAB (Book & CD) by Rush
Descent: Journeys in The Dark Second Edition Board Game by Fantasy Flight Games
Country (Guitar Chord Songbook) by Hal Leonard Corp.

Mostly stuff for campfire jams with the neighbors. I have a buddy who plays a ton of Rush on the drums, so I wouldn't mind practicing it up on the bass a bit (he nags me every time I see him). And now that my basement is waterproofed, a few tracks to play drums with. I should probably ask for a decent low end ribbon mic or something.

I already bought myself about a thousand minis for xmas.

I have the cheapo La Tramontina or whatever that VDL was saying were garbage. Had them for years and they're still awesome. But with your budget, yeah, get the real deal :) Actually I'm well-stocked for cast iron and porcelain-coated iron pots and pans, I need to fill out my regular pots and pans now that I have a real stove.

Crate and Barrel has some nice not-as-expensive cast iron pans like this one:

Perfect for making one or two eggs in the morning.

My wife had a few pieces before we were married, and they're as awesome now as they were when we met fifteen years ago.  Take care of them, they'll take care of you.

Going to get a new tv, finally. Will pile up donations and head to the Boxing Week sales (Canada's Black Friday). No idea what I actually want.

Sadly, at this point, the thing I'm most concerned with is having three HDMI inputs.

I just have no idea what I want at all.  My family is going to hate me or just buy me a bunch of clothes I don't want or need ("A heavy sweater! Great, I'll wear this twice."). As usual, my son's haul will make my childhood look like I was a tiny Tim (not the guy with the ukelele).

I imagine I'll be spending Christmas watching my nephews play their Wii U or new-handheld-whatever, while my son gets frustrated that his cousins won't play with him.  Food will be good though.  Better not be ham.

I have one of those (a son who gets way too much)...I'm wondering what the heck to buy him this year. I think I've finally convinced my wife to stop buying him a bunch of presents he will never use but things he WILL actually use is actually a fairly short list. At this stage think Ill take the money we usually spend and buy him a HD TV for his xbox....any other suggestions for a 12 year old (who has all the consoles, phones, games etc that he needs)

The HD TV is as good idea. Let's face it, would you want to play on a non HDTV at this point if you were him? Besides that, this is the only thing which comes to mind

I asked for a painted figure of one of my D&D characters, because I am a massive dork. Dunno if I'll actually get it, though!  why so serious?

It is way too early for this thread, though, don't you people know it isn't time for thinking about Christmas until after my birthday?

Apparently we have people camping outside of the local Best Buy already for Friday (it's Wednesday morning about 8am).  I hate this season.

This started in my area on MOTHERFUCKING MONDAY.  What the shit, people.

Also, Rocksmith for my dad and a combination of RPGs for my mom.  Not sure about which yet though.  I always find Christmas interesting because of the role reversal I have with my parents.  I used to get them clothes as a kid and they used to get me video games.  Now it's the other way around . DRILLING AND WOMANLINESS

I'm at a loss for what to get the girlfriend.  I got her an iPad 2 last year so the bar is set a little high.
