Ok I just finished "The Vision" from the fortune teller.   I found the quest rather interesting until the very last part.   I worked at it for a bit then realized I obviously didn't get it and looked it up.   Now I still don't get it.

If it was supposed to be an explore kind of thing then that's just shitty.   That particular spot would definitely fall under the heading of needle in a haystack.

Found it. Wasn't expecting it to not be a yellow for some reason.

I think their point, their goal, is what Riggswolfe felt. No one will probably be able to solve all riddles or get all the locations and that's because the temptation to cheat is so strong when you are stuck, and so easy to do so. But that doesn't matter. What matters is what players feel when they complete a quest. They give players the opportunity to FEEL rewarded by completing quests. It doesn't matter if it's a fluke or what, you just feel smart, cool, intuitive, whatever, when you solve one of their riddles without help. And the fact that they make sense or not is irrelevant. Actually, solving the nonsensical ones gives you an even weirder blissfull chill.

That is in my opinion Funcom's biggest achievement so far with The Secret World: they found a way to make player feel happy, satisfied for completing quests regardless of the in-game reward.

I can't feel rewarded for finding a needle in a haystack.  Kind of surprised if anyone can honestly.

Oh my. You've never been a kid then! What's more rewarding than finding a needle in a haystack?! Even more so cause you feel everyone else couldn't, or would have simply given up! Or would have cheated.

But yeah, of course, we are not all the same. That's a given.

Has anyone been able to find the white raven? Or is the quest bugged?

If you can't find the white raven, your dimension is bugged and you need to switch to another one. Ask around for someone who's completed the mission successfully, join their group and port to their dimension when prompted.

I've also heard that joining+leaving the persistent pvp battleground (fusang) can work to switch you to a different dimension, but it hasn't worked for me.

You should be able to find the white raven even on bugged instances, if it is sitting on a stack of other white ravens your instance is bugged (most are bugged).  If you mean you don't know where or how to actually get to the white raven:

While doing the Kingsmouth Code quest last night, I have to admit, as frustrated as I was getting by NOT finding the places to go without resorting to teh Googly, when I actually DID figure something out and got the quest to advance, I felt rewarded. I mean, I did actually have to take a few minutes to puzzle something out. Even if I was wrong, it's certainly more thought than I put into MMOG quests these days. It's partly because MMOG quests have taken to the herding you on a leash with giant arrows tactic of quest solving. I certainly don't want to do away with minimap quest indicators, but not having every quest handed to me on a platter is refreshing. Some of the clues just really make no goddamn sense though.
