Just finished watching this.  I enjoyed it, in that it basically confirmed everything we already knew, although there were some spots that do legitimately draw Palin as a decent person.  Which she is, but certainly not presidential material.  If she hadn't gotten hand-picked and spotlighted the way she did, I'm sure she'd still be governerin' it up in Alaska right now.  Still, the movie also highlights the galvanizing effect Palin's had on the base, in rallying the double-digit IQs in the country.

Yes, McCain's face was priceless when the chants of "Terrorist" was going on.

I don't really see much anyone can object to in this movie. For one, most scenes were simply rehashes of public appearances. For two, for a moment, you feel sorry for her, she had zero clue what was in store for her, and she snapped. Third, we all knew she was a puppet.

I am not a Palin sympathizer.  I was early on but she drove me out of her corner when she resigned as governor and took the Fox News contract which clearly gave her an opinion of herself her opinions could not match (and I only watch Fox News, so it isn't the network I reject but what she has said whenever she appears).

The movie is not historically accurate and does not attempt to be.  Don't kid yourselves.  All of you are too knowledgeable about the entertainment industry to really believe that.  Yes, there are scraps of accuracy and bits of exaggeration.  The movie is clearly written from an anti-Palin perspective, though.

My understanding was the Palin camp was given a chance to corroborate some of the stuff in the movie and refused to speak with them. I guess if someone's not making a movie about her that staggers drunkenly close to apotheosis, she's not interested.

Irrelevant. Supporters of Palin are in fact subhuman. Therefore, evidence submits there is only Palin, and the rest of humanity, whereas anything that would side with her is clearly a retarded humanoid-shaped dog. They should be kept as hilarious pets, and despite their humanesque personality and physical features - should not be allowed to vote or eat anything more than messy brown chow.

While that was well-written and I applaud you for it, it is clearly a liberal Austin trope.  I will stop there or this becomes denned real quick.

You make a fair analysis.  I thought the first 35 minutes or so were excellent and then suspect the rest of the movie moved farther from the truth, but I will never know for sure.  I will admit I expected a helluva lot worse from this movie.

Actually Steve Schmidt and Nicolle Wallace were on MSNBC  and both confirmed the accuracy of the movie. McCain himself  didn't claim the movie was inaccurate - just unpleasant. And Wallace confirmed that, indeed, she could not bring herself to vote for McCain for President.

I thought it was a great look at the inner workings of a campaign.  Palin does come across as a sympathetic figure but it clearly shows her grasping for power and her ignorance of basic world/current events.  Woody Harrelson knocks this out of the park and Moore is practically possessed by Palin.  Damn good acting there.

It reminded me that as 'despicable' as I view the GOP, I need to remember we are all Americans.  Makes me wonder if civil political discourse will return though.

I watched this yesterday. As a "socialist, communist, liberal", I was worried it would be just a partizan hack movie, but personally I felt it did a damn good job of keeping the political pandering and politicking out of it. I even came out feeling pretty bad for McCain, and even a tad for Sarah Palin, whom I despise.

I really enjoyed the movie.

I thought it was pretty sympathetic towards her. This woman had enough on her plate with a large family, a pregnant teenage daughter, a special needs child, a son serving in Iraq, and being the governor of Alaska. Then, out of the blue, she's called and asked if she'd be interested in being Vice President of the United States? She made a poor choice in accepting, but I would think it's more the fault of those who were supposed to vet her than anything else.

If at any point in the vetting process they actually ask her anything about world affairs, she and they would have both realized that she wasn't cut out for it. Once she was in the spotlight, the only thing that worked for her was being herself so she grew to resent those that tried to make her into something she wasn't.

Her being herself is basically her talking in circles and never saying anything of substance. Oh, and fanning the flames of hatred towards Obama. Stilll, that's what worked for her and when they told her to stop doing what was working, she spazzed out.
