I extended the deadline for this game day so that it went a little further past Christmas. If you know that Christmas will put a damper on your Blood Bowl playing get the game done early; there are plenty of days left! Another match between the top two contenders in the Chevre division. Bann, you're next.

Llyse and I played the other day. He won 2-0 mostly because my goats were worse at breaking armour than his goats. We had a couple of tense moments where things could have gone either way but he managed to take 7 of my players off the pitch in the first drive and it went downhill from there.
I don't remember any permanent damage being done at least.
Edit: LLyse not Comstar.

I'll validate both matches very soon.
Edit: Done. Looks like Llyse has made a serious comeback. That Carbon Monoxide Dodge/Pass goat is a superstar in the making with yet another level up. You've gotten lots of doubles all around. Gruntle's team looks annoying. Foul appearances and two +1STR goats? Hope I get to play against you all in the playoffs, some really cool teams building up here.

Mammals lose to Ponies 0-2. I won the toss, chose to receive to leisurely take apart Comstar's less-developed team, and proceeded to get utterly annihilated in the first half. He finally deigned to score when I was down to 5 beastmans. Second half was not as much of a mess, but still, yeesh. Pull it together, Mammals!
When the dust settled, one of my Guard beastmen was killed, and a level one dude got a -ST injury so he will be fired. But not before he got the MVP, the asshole.

Malevolent Mammals | 0 - 2 | My Little Beasties
I took a bribe and a wizard, and both proved crucial. Proudft got the kick off and I did a conservative defence till I could see a oppotuinity. It came when he tried pushing down one flank and I let loose the wizard's fireball. One injury, 2 down including the ball carrier and the game was a hoof. Throughout the first half I was able to foul with impunity and by the end of it there was one dead guard, 3 KO'ed and the wizard injury, giving me 11 players to 5 and an easy turn 8 touchdown, though Proudft was able to knock my ball carrier down three times with the Blitz and a Horns 2 dice block. I had 1 KO the first half, who woke up for the second.
The second half wasn't as brutel, but Proudft was down 1 player on the pitch, and lost several more to KO's. He did get one injury on me later on, but he wasn't able to stop my 2nd TD.
I got overconfident and put all my players on the line for the last 3 turns- and a quicksnap and a bad kick meant proudft had a chance to get a consolation TD. Unfortunately he was outnumbered still, I was able to block his run down the side.
1 Death and 1 injury on his team, 1 Badly hurt on mine. Both teams get 2 Skill ups, but one of his is on a -1ST player.

Yeah it's a funny team of goats with doubles galore but not so many stat ups. Not that I'm complaining Your team doesn't look too bad with almost full block and a +1 Str goat either Ruvaldt. Bad luck on the injuries Proudft and the lost MVP

Yeah, I haven't had a lot of doubles (two, I think), but my team advancement has been very even. That +STR guy will probably be my ball carrier soon; with horns it is nearly impossible to keep a STR3 ball carrier up without extensive guard or a MV advantage. It is still surprising to me how many different paths people have taken with their teams and they all seem viable.

Finally took my first normal (non stat, non doubles, non mutation) skill: one of the FA goats now has guard (and one of the +ST goats is now also +AG). I would have to say, skill-choice-wise, Foul Appearance has not been very effective for me, but it's become a cosmetic mandate to have the entire goat team exuding those little green clouds. I'll validate both matches very soon.

And AV7 from a Serious Concussion. That's a bitter pill when he is valued at 150, almost the price of three level 1 goats, and is going to be a prime target for blocks/fouls. Still, protect that goat and he could be worth the price.

Umm. Our game didn't go well.
Luckton abandoned on his 8th turn after I stalled before scoring and injured four goats and KOed another four.
It seemed to piss him off a lot, but I've already lost twice after injuring half the other side, so I'm not really apologetic for stalling.
Luckton:
Sorry that the game annoyed you, I know it can be super frustrating. But I'm not trying to be malicious or anything: If you stand players up I will hit them, as not hitting them means you might pull off some dodges and knock out my ball carrier.
Plus you had 1 injured and 4 KOs on my 7th turn. If I scored then you have two turns to score with a possible 10v11, plus a second half.
/drama.

Be that as it may, I did not expect to be able to do jack shit in the second half, except give you more opportunities to injure my team and score more. As I said, was better to just give you two MVPs and call it day. No ill will, but having not won a single goddamned game at all in this league, and now that I'm underpowered even further, I'm giving some serious thought to just abandoning this 'fun' league. Edit: And no, that doesn't mean I'm whining and saying that I should just win 'just because', but when I'm going against mutant bash teams that have a whole season (and a half now) of level ups and experience, and seeing my team get perma-injured/killed, it doesn't really fill me with the whole 'fun' factor thing. I dunno...I know it's all fair in love and dice throws...maybe had I been around for the first season when things were a bit more even.

Yeah that's understandable. 14 knockdowns in one half is not fun to play against at all. I had good dice (75% successful blocks is pretty absurd) and your were awful (31%), which made it even worse.

Yeah, two in the first half for Linda, up to 16 injuries caused and 13 KOs. Would love to get her a couple more skills and add piling on to the mix. Going to have to give her foul appearance for the next skill to keep her alive.

Foul appearance will probably increase her survivability, sure.
It would be tempting to go with prehensile tail though. I know it sounds strange, but it probably would give you more blocking opportunities as people would be less likely to try to dodge away. Still, foul appearance is likely the more useful of the mutation choices for her.

All the other goats are too busy cowering in fear to try dodging anyhow.
Going to put the tail on a few goats though, it's one of the more useful mutations.

Yeah, wrestle and prehensile tail makes for a very annoying goat. Add tackle and they're a terror, though that would have reduced usefulness in this league.

Rudvaldt and I just played. His final turn, I had just typed into chat "Ok, so all you gotta do is blitz out, dodge, dodge, pickup in occupied zone, dodge again, and make your GFI." Then the bastard goes ahead and does EXACTLY THAT to win the game. ARGH!

Goat Variations 2 - 1 The Cosmonauts
This was a really fun game, though I came out of it very worse for wear: Eyeball Kid now has -MA in addition to his -AV and one of my blockers also has -AV with a total of three missing next game.
The first drive was fairly bloodless as I won the toss and was able to knock down Bann's Borak and run up a sideline with a piecemeal cage. After five rounds I scored a TD, though I would've preferred to stall. Bann had some possible blitzes though so I decided to trust my defense. I kicked off to Bann and got a blitz event, but it didn't make much of a difference. Bann moved up to the line of scrimmage and set up for a pass while my goats started getting injured and ko'd. Bann wasn't able to pull off the pass, but he earned a one goat advantage going into the second half and I thought for sure we were headed for a draw.
The second half went as I figured it would: Bann ground me down and I had a bad roll or two (two failed gfis and a double attacker down that ruined a whole turn), but I have little doubt Bann would've scored regardless of nuffle; it was just sped up by the circumstances. Bann made the right choice, seeing his player advantage over me (I had six down) and ran in a touchdown with four rounds left figuring that he could get the ball and go for a win. I, however, got lucky on my standups and got three goats back from KO, and received a terrible kick-off that put the ball against a sideline and close to my end zone. What followed was me picking up the ball, handing it off, and going for a desperate lone-goat charge for the endzone with minimal backup. On the final turn I had one goat within range of the ball against nearly impossible odds: 1 die block, dodge out of tackle zone, dodge into a tackle zone, ball pick-up, dodge out of a tackle zone and gfi...and I made it. Total bullshit TD if there ever was one on the last turn. If anyone wants to behold my amazing luck the game is uploaded, though it can be annoying watching games between the same sides.
Bann played one hell of a game and I robbed him of a draw. He murdered my goats though, and I don't look forward to my next match. Also, my mvp went to a -AV/-MA goat who now has blodge...so it's nearly impossible to fire him even though he is a serious liability.

Waitsing 1 - The Horns of Wrath 0 I had my team thoroughly dismantled, 3 injuries and 4 KO's in the first half and only 1 KO woke up for the second half but despite the one sided injury count this was actually quite a fun game where my desperation moves mostly came off and Nuffle only laughed at me when it was time to stick the boot in on Avaia and actually score. First half Avaia wins the toss and elects to receive and I get a blitz event which allows me to put some pressure in his backfield early, though the tone for my game was set when i managed to injure a goat using a GFI to provide some cover. The next 4 turns are me and Avaia trading blocks on ball carriers with me mostly getting the lucky breaks though on turn 7 with the ball in my hands and only a single goat in blitz range, with no block Avaia rolls push and block, which of course will be a turn over, so as long as he doesnt break armour I am in with a chance of a steal score on Avaia's drive, of course Nuffle has had enough of my elf like play and gives Avaia the armour break he needs injuring the only goat I had in score range and the half ends 0-0 I have injured 1 and Ko'd 1 of Avaia's goats to 3 injured and 4 KO'd for me, of which only 1 woke up for the second half so I was faced with 7 v 11 and realising I need a quick score either for me or Avaia to get more goats on the pitch I setup up for a sideline push, which Nuffle again rolls his eyes at my temerity and gives Avaia perfect defence on the kick off event allowing him to mark all my foremost players. I push a runner into Avaia's half and pickup the ball and throw it back to get it out of reach, the throw works, the catch however fails but Avaia takes the bait and streams a few beastmen into my half while putting a couple of markers on my goat in scoring range, I dodge blitz one marker away and make the pickup but fail the launch roll and need a re-roll to succesfully make the throw to the goat in scoring range, however the marking goat is well positioned and it will need 3 dodges, without a re-roll to make the score, but having seen some pretty silly stuff work for me so far I try it anyway and unsurprisingly fail on the second dodge. At this point the match turns in Avaia favour as he manages to mark all my players and keep most of them on the deck for the rest of the half. I do make a couple of desperation blitzes, and 1 did come off, but with no support to take advantage of it it comes down to how well I can use my wizard. I decide to lightening bolt his ball carrier in score range on turn 14 and though it does knock him down it doesn't hurt him and I can't get any markers onto the ball, Avaia stands him up and moves him closer to the goal line and once again I can blitz the carrier but require 3 dodgesa with no rerolls but since this is the only way to stop a turn 16 score I try it anyway, predictably this fails, though at least it didn't tease me and failed straight away and Avaia punched a few more goat faces before running in the tuirn 16 TD. Was a good match and I enjoyed that even though I took a pummeling, sometimes it's not the winning it's making the other guy sweat that counts Avaia loaded the match on BBmanager.

Goat Street Occupiers | 2 - 0 | Baa Ram U!!Occupiers over Baa Ram U 2-0. Cankle had some bad luck at key points in the game (early double skull and a riot knocking down 2 of his guys at a kick off, for instance), but match was generally all over the place. Got a few lucky breaks and scored twice. GG overall, and Canckle put up a strong fight (He inflicted death to one of my goats, but I managed to save him with the apoth!).
