Yah, it's also great to just pick a day for delving and be able to fill up on sulphite whenever you want.

Necromancer damage is bonkers. Just insta-phases bosses with little effort. Poisoner was starting to run into issues. It was bothering me. This may be way easy and way meta, but it's satisfying watching my army of flying skulls explode everything with garbage leveling gear.

I can see that. It's not a super engaging style of play. Kitava was kind of funny. Easiest one I've ever done and it was at 68 without getting the cruel labs done.

First map was a little rough. Garbage gear is still garbage gear. 3K hp and no active defenses can be a bit squishy.

Thinking of maybe just moving on to a raider/deadeye (speedy characters seem to be what I enjoy the most) or divine ire totem hiero. I could also convert my assassin to claw/shield or a CoC build for giggles. I'm also sitting on way too much shit I need to sell.

Minions are real fun for leveling because racing to level is a thing. Once you hit maps it's just ugh.

Also, not feeling the poison build. (level 48-50ish) Damage is ok, but plaguebearer just feels pretty meh having to turn it on and off all the time. With it on the build feels decent.

Link to your character? At level 93, it nearly instantly recharges (maybe 1 or 2 casts) after running out. It's at 1mil stored damage and seems to run for a decent amount of time. I don't love the skill, but it can be pretty amazing; especially for delve, where it can nearly sustain itself. Most of my clear is taken care of the fact that 5 cobra lash projectiles chaining 5 times a piece tend to hit a lot of stuff (I should really buy a Dying Sun). Most of it dies on hit.

At 60-65 when you can slot a Wasp's Nest or Bino's it does a lot better. Those a really big DPS boosters, before you start getting into crafted gear.

Tell me more about this boring but effective necro.

Socket Zombies, Skeletons and Spectres and run around. I don't think there is any specific build thats best. Minions are crazy. Just go to the necro forum on POE and pick a flavor that interests you. Depends on the minion you like the best.

Also: This is a really fun build - https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2643210/page/1

SRS is kind of boring and requires a lot of casting. A lot of time standing still as well. I don't think this one is going to stick. I don't think PoE style summoners are for me. I may keep it around and just good around with other variants.

On to something else.

I got a Death's Opus prophecy from Navali, so decided to start leveling up an ice shot deadeye I had an eye on. Specifically this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wARPcb9bXnw&t=3415s Unfortunately this build is super expensive and some of the items are best in slot for delving, so I decided to rework the poisoner. This would hopefully allow me to farm some currency.

Asenath's Gentle Touch really make the poisoner work a lot better. Temporal Chains keeps your poison on the enemies longer and allows you to more safely clear large packs. Less one-shots from random garbage.  Also, the built in corpse exploding means you can actually delve without dying to the corpses, and you don't die to those damn porcupines. Plus, now my character is completely immune to poison, bleeding and freeze. I mostly just die from my bad boss mechanics and getting randomly blown up by stuff I can't see in a blight encounter (off screen or just too much goddamn green and red).

It's going pretty well so far. I should get lower than 200 delve soon. Pretty much anything that isn't uber elder is not that difficult. Still suck at that fight, however. I would like to get Whispers of Doom on my amulet, but that anoint will cost at least 2ex.  sad

So, uh, this dropped and it's apparently good or some shit, since my item filter made an odd noise and put it as a white nice thing.

And it's worth 2.5 ex and I can't figure out what the fuck you'd use it for.

I think right now it’s being used in Animate Guardian builds. Same reason Kingmaker is so expensive right now.

Blight encounter dropped a level 4 Enlighten for me. Same chest dropped a 21/23 garbage support gem (Chance to Bleed). Poor no longer.

So, now that I'm losing interest in the league, I've had 3 exalts drop in 2 days.  awesome, for real  Outer Worlds may have something to do with it.

So, uhh... I guess another build?

edit: Jesus christ, I've failed 3 double corrupts in a row. Good thing they were just 20c gloves. But goddamn.

So, I started this up after getting a bee in my bonnet about the Blizzard/Hong Kong nonsense.

Rather enjoying this. I do miss the seamless spec switching of D3, but the build diversity is way more interesting.

After trying several different builds, I found Enki's Arc Witch and have settled.

I am curious. I have heard that Arc was nerfed back some time ago.  It seems really strong now, how was is stronger?

https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Arc

You can see the change history toward the bottom.

Most recently:
Code:
3.6.0

Mana Cost at gem level 1 is now 8 (was 9).
Mana Cost at gem level 20 is now 23 (was 26).
Now has a cast time of 0.7 seconds (from 0.8).
Now deals 6 to 33 Lightning damage at gem level 1 (from 7 to 37) and 133 to 754 Lightning damage at gem level 20 (from 152 to 862).
Now has an added damage effectiveness of 80% (from 90%).
Lowered the range at which Arc can chain from 50 units to 25 units.

3.3.0

Now has an added damage effectiveness of 90% (up from 70%).
Now deals 7-37 lightning damage at gem level 1 (up from 2-35), up to 152-862 lightning damage at gem level 20 (up from 47-886).
Now deals 15% more damage for each remaining chain.
Can now split to an extra enemy whenever it chains. These splits cannot then chain.
Chains 4 times at level 1, up to 7 times at level 20.

Big change I believe is with the 3.3, which changed "shotgunning". A chain will not chain back to itself or visit previously chained enemies. Not 100% sure on this.

....

I tried divine ire totems. Verdict: I do not like totems. Lasers are funny, it's just not fun dropping stuff and running around trying not to get tagged.

Mana guardian is pretty boring too. Tanky boy, but I feel that ball lightning is a boring skill. Most skill they suggest for it are pretty boring. Still, kind of interesting the way that you can build a mana stacking/low life character. Never done that before. I will say one positive thing: leveling with the orb of storms/wave of conviction combo is fantastic. It just works great.

The huge change there was the nerf to chaining range from 50 units to 25 units. Used to be you could Arc and it would hit EVERYTHING. Now it's a lot more reasonable in what it chains to.

Another question, what to do with all of these extra uniques? I finally got the trade macro thing working so I can figure out if something is worth something, but most of this stuff is essentially valueless from a trade standpoint.

Do I just vend these things or is there something more useful to do?

Additionally, is there something wonky with the seeding on uniques? I have about 9 million Silverbranches, slightly fewer Barkskins, Ezomyte Peaks, Geofry's Crests. While I find the income from the steady stream of Perandus Belts I sell nice, I don't understand why they sell as fast as they do.

I also have like 5 Tabula Rasa and 3 Goldrims for twinking.

Vendor them for alchs. If you have a uniques tab, then you can collect them. You can also try to vaal different gloves, quivers, etc to see if you get any useful or interesting corruptions.

You can vendor extra tabulas for Divine Orbs, which are easier to sell.

Some of the more valuable uniques only drop in specific encounters. The common shit, you'll find all over the place. Only real unique items of value that you're going to find laying around are the odd useful jewels. BTW, poe.ninja is your friend. Pretty easy to find out what's valuable or not. Stuff can vary wildly from league to league due to meta changes, build popularity, etc.

I liked what I saw from ExileCon.

Improved graphics, animation meshes, skill system etc. 4.0 (or POE2) is going to be great but I guess it's 1+ years away. New League looks fun I guess. I finally get to play a better ballista build. What I'm really interested in learning more about is the new mapping "overhaul" they are doing. It might actually make it sticky for me since I've never liked mapping before.

Someone put together a list of streamer recommended starter builds for Metamorph, very handy!

Who's playing 3.9 and what are you playing?!  I'll be dropping in as soon as the league goes live, currently leaning towards Burning Arrow Trickster or a Storm Brand Inquisitor for my starter build.

My cat went berserk last night so I'll be playing "what poor decision can I make while severely sleep deprived". I feel like I'm pretty set on Burning Arrow Chieftain or Explosive Arrow Raider at this point. Chieftain just scales fire damage really well BA doesn't need to hit that fast. Raider for lots of passive defenses and the ability to start shooting really fast.

My BA build has waaaay too many uniques in it, but it should work on garbage gear.

Leveling right now with Molten Strike. I could not get any dex gear and dex nodes aren't that readily available to a marauder early on. I may just pivot and go Molten Strike Jugg.  This is pretty nifty.

Been a crap league start so far. Just horrid drops. Nothing linked. All the wrong colors.  swamp poop

Mostly just garbage uniques have dropped for me, and I only have one equipped. Just got to Act 8. Remind me to level something a bit more zoom zoomy next league start, this build is decent, but kind of on the slow side. It should come around, as I'm still getting by with the same bow I've had for like 20+ levels.

Now, I know everyone hates MTX, but the new stuff out of the mystery box looks great.
