Well Bioware told everyone to just start fresh if they wanted to save space, since it was going to do that anyways.

No idea, I had uninstalled the whole thing when they recommended it.

My TOR folder is 36.6 gigabytes.  Of that, the Assets folder takes up 34.7.  I deleted that, along with the two patch related folders, and the various version files in the root directory.  It's in the process of downloading everything again.

We'll see how that works out.

If you deleted when they suggested doing so to save HD space a week or two ago you do not need to delete again.  If your current install is 6 Yottabytes, well in that case you probably do not need to reinstall either.  Anywhere between say 21 GB and 6YB?  You have excess files and would want to reinstall for space saving.  My current folder is 18.5 GB, for reference.

If you downloaded the client for this last weekend you are fine.  If you patched from the prior weekend then they are suggesting you uninstall and redownload.

Looks like all the "green" files in the asset's directory are delete-fodder.

I installed and reinstalled overnight.  It'll be a day or two until it's back anyways, so this way I know it's clean.

Hahahaha!  I'm really good at this!

Deleted my old one and re-installed as well.

Just got an email saying -

If you go to the FAQ linked in the email it says:

Quote
We encourage anyone who has taken part in our Game Testing Program prior to the November 25th Beta Weekend to uninstall their previous client before installing the final Game Client

My guess is that if you were in the 11-11-11 beta weekend and didn't reinstall - you're going to have to.

My guess is that's about all that extra data bloat we talked about previously.  It's easier for them to say "Uninstall and reinstall everything" instead of "Delete these certain files"

Based on that I will reinstall when my physical copy arrives.  If the difference between the discs and new patches is less than 20GB I win.

I posted mine in the wrong thread  Ohhhhh, I see.

I'm hoping it's because I was in the 367 weekend, just in case I hadn't already deleted that older client.

Doesn't the preorder access open up to five days before the release (and so the physical delivery, i'd presume) though?

Yeah, but I get early access because of a preorder code.  You put in your other info later as I understand it.  Worst case, I do not get to play early (ohnoes).  I can play Batman or Skyrim or Terraria!  There are also other options which enhance my social skills.

Huh?  You would still have to download the game to play during early access.

Well, 27 GB is a pretty good compression down from 140+ TBs.

Right, unless your install is new enough, which mine may be.  Given the mail fail I expect we will all have bloat without doing a clean install

Yeah, that number confused me too. That last install was under 20gb and now it's almost 30?
