Yeah Belsavis was just thing after thing after thing of "are you ... are you serious? Who the fuck thought that was a good idea?" I basically took every "wat" conversation option I could (and so did Ingmar, I suspect). Voss is a crazy feverdream of a planet, but Belsavis managed to come away with the biggest WTFs for me.

Wait.  So by not getting in a relationship, I'm not getting free blues and purples?

NOW it's gone from annoyance to... well, major annoyance.  Kind of depressed resignation really.  That's pretty unfair though.

To clarify they're blue/purple companion gifts only for me so far.

I did put out, and I'm not getting letters either. All because I didn't want Siala to marry Lt. Boyfriend!

The prison planet in general is full of WTF-REALLY? Republic stuff.

Though the whole prison thing is consistent with the Republic throughout--they're short on manpower because they're a bunch of wasteful asshats. They're spending bazillions of credits cleaning up Taris (and wasting the lives of troops and mercenaries) when their own CAPITAL is a fucking mess anywhere but near the Senate building.

About the main reason the Republic is still in business from what I can see is that the Sith are such an over-the-top murderous and treacherous bunch of nutjobs.

After Jedi Knight Act 1 it all kind of feels like business as usual on Belsavis.

On the Imp side, there were a few 'Why would they do that? Are they stupid?' dialogue choices about some of the Republic's design ideas.

I don't know if it was the quantity that caused the writers to go crazy, but both the Empire and Republic act in such a colossally stupid and unsustainable manner that it actually starts to cause issues.

I get that the Star Wars world was never properly filled out in the films, and that the empire and republic in the EU is literally this retarded, but the situation in game prevents the opposing faction from ever feeling like a threat. Mortal peril only ever comes about as a result of your own side being galactically stupid or pointlessly malicious.

In other news, Andronekus or whatever he is called is really starting to piss me off...

I'm guessing they were all out of florrid prose after they wrote Corso.

Some of the conversations must have been written just to annoy the player. Like this one conversation with Quinn. (de-spoilered paraphrase)

Quinn: So, the empire is in danger and so we must grab this particular piece of information.
Me: Huh, all right I guess.
Quinn: It's highly secured. We'd need to get a disguise, bypass 4 security stations, seduce the guard lady to grab her access code, sneak past a hundred security droids, then break the safe combination while hanging upside down from the ceiling.
Me: OMG, that sounds awesome! Let's do that!
Quinn: I'll get to it right away, my Lord. I'll contact you as soon as I'm done.
<fade to black>
Me: What!?
<fade in>
Quinn: I'm done. Nothing I couldn't handle.
Me: But... But *I* wanted to do that mission! Heartbreak

Same thing with Liberty PrimeForex for troopers and the random missions of asskickery he decides to do occasionally. Though the over-the-top way he narrates the events afterwards (and the general HAM FACTOR) makes it a lot more  awesome, for real than  Ohhhhh, I see..

Andronikus followup, the mysterious funny noise has been resolved...

Starting to think inquistors get seriously gypped on the companion front. Not least as it also seems Ashara is a sexist cow and refuses to gain affection for gifts from female characters.

At least we have Talos.

Ingmar clarified it was only comp. gifts.  I guess to make-up for ignoring your other companions?   I didn't get one yesterday so it could be you only get 2, or maybe it's triggered by additional +companion status.  I don't know.

Gee, I love Risha and Akaavi's dialogues for the most part. I haven't talked with Bowdaar in ages, and the last time was just some short thing about how slavery is bad.

Guss was hilarious on Hoth, I have no idea what he'll be like in companion dialogues as I haven't really used him yet and he's had almost no affection gains. I should take him out soon and shower him with gifts to see what he's on about. He's a healer, so not too helpful for a sawbones.

Lt. Boyfriend must've felt my RAEG, because suddenly I have a letter from him! Not sure why he took longer to write me than Kira took to write Ingmar, as I was up in what I assume is the letter zone a while ago. Maybe he just needed time to get over my cruel rejection of his proposal?  why so serious?

The gift was just a level 1 purple gift, which will be nice for an alt, but not much use for Siala. The important thing was the letter, though, that was the part I was pissy about. SO. Marriage is not the "win condition" of the romances after all, which makes me happy.

I am about ready to get access to Tanno Vik and I hope he is interesting because MX (despite having a great VA) is not and both Dorne and Jorgan are even more boring.

They did do a good job of sort of intertwining a lot of story threads between classes and factions.
