Picked up Just Cause 2 and Amnesia for ~$6 each.

I should get back to nature, too.  You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer.  Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached.  Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

Dungeons of Dredmor was worth it at full price. Picking up the expansion now, for uh, pocket change.

Getting Dungeons of Dredmor and LEGO Batman.

Also, I have a coupon for -50% off Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 that I will never, ever use.  If anyone wants it it is theirs.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is still $50, what a joke!

That's localised Australian pricing. US price is $27 (and may well be cheaper if it gets daily deal'd).

It's generally a good rule of thumb to only buy things that are on daily specials because the discounts are deeper.  I hold off on buying games that are on a broader discount until the end just to see if they are part of one of those better daily specials over the course of the sale.  There will likely, at some point, be a day in which a package of Paradox games are on 75%+ discount.

Edit: also, Schild is right.  Dungeons of Dredmor is really entertaining.  It's a steal at $2.

I had already bought Psychnauts a while back, but it didn't feel especially playable at the time. I guess Double Fine patched the game to improve controller support, add achievements, and higher resolutions. The game plays great now and it's as charming as ever. Consider picking up the Double Fine pack (Costume Quest and Psychonauts for $5.74) if you're interested in either. Fair warning: you'll probably want a controller for Psychonauts, I can't imagine the gameplay being great with a keyboard.

Picked up DoD complete for < $2, and Recettear for $5. Not that I'm likely to play either now that SWTOR is here, but for the less than lunch I can't say no.

Edit: less than, not greater than.

Got a coupon for 50% off Eufloria which looks like an artsy take on a space exploration game it anyone is interested.
The game is already half off, so this would make it $3.75, but only if you act now :)

I think the coupons only "start" on 2nd Jan - when this Christmas sale promotion ends.

I'm assuming they're only valid for the full price, too.  I got a "50% off Valve product" one, while Valve games were 75% off that day, which combined would let me get Half-Life 2 (normally $10.00) for something like $1.25.

Once this sale thing is over, we should have some sort of coupon swap thread.  I am never gonna use that thing.

Yep, check here:
Holiday Sale Instructions

"Most coupons will be usable starting January 2nd, but keep an eye out for Golden coupons, which can be used during the holiday sale."

The idea is that you can trade them now.
I'm not sure if coal can be traded for a specific coupon or if it gets you a random coupon from the pile.
If it is random then the best idea that has come to me so far is if someone were going to trade their coal and you have a coupon that they want then you get more entries into the grand prize and they don't have any risk.

Yeah didnt notice the after Jan 2 part.  But on the plus side, you can use coupons on sale items unless otherwise noted on the coupon.

Yeah, and if you have one of the 50% Off One Valve Product coupon, you should also read the fine print - only good for titles released on or before Jan 2, 2012 and expires on March 1st, 2012, so no saving up for Half-Life 3.

If anyone wants my 50% Off Valve Product coupon, let me know - I already own all the ones I want.

Sweet!  Arkham City is one of the top games I was waiting for on this sale.

Is that Swords and Soldiers game any good?

So not having bought any of the Mount and Blade games before, should I bother with anything but Mount & Blade: Warband?

Fire and Sword is pretty interesting.  It plays very differently from Warband, however.  Which could be a "bad thing" for you.

What Schild said.  I bought the first one on a sale, since its description sounded like something I would really love.  Its pretty bad.

Nope, all the good mods are for Warband. The one I'm currently playing and have liked the best so far is Sword of Damocles: Warlords. I highly recommend downloading that in addition to your purchase. It does quite a few things that I really like. It updates the map to a much larger version with twelves factions instead of five. It updates the economy so trading makes more sense, plus there is a banking option. It has more custom dialogue. There are duels during the battles that affect morale and experience gain. Troops can surrender to you mid-battle. They added firearms. You can recruit different types of peasants from taverns. Towns now have population and faith, in addition to more building options. You can command your own kingdom faction with more options, such as castellans and lords that offer to join you. Also, lots more weapons/items with a blacksmithing upgrade system.
