I've been staring hard at Bastion all day.  Will I actually get around to playing it?  Doubtful.  But I've heard such good things...

It's $5.  Ohhhhh, I see.

I played it for a bit. It's nicely produced, stylish and probably going to be enough fun to justify 5$. It was probably the game that convinced me to get an xbox controller for the PC though (that and costume quest plus chantelise).

I see APB is out of beta. I very much doubt they've done enough to make it worth the download though.

I might very well call Bastion my GOTY. It has fewer flaws than anything else I've played. (Other than Portal 2 I guess.)

Had to buy Bastion; so glad I bought a 360 controller for Skyrim.  It sure has been handy lately.

Fine, you bastards.  Am I going to need a controller, or will K+M work?

Its really meant to use a controller I found.  Started with Mouse and Keyboard but switched over to using my PS3 controller.  Plays a lot better.

You should really buy it though, I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Played it for a bit, it's kinda cute...but I hate cute games. Nice graphic style, but not the style I like. Combat in cardinal directions only? Bleh.

The voice over is amazing, only thing I like.

The voice over does make the game. If not for that and the music, the game would suck.

I really liked the art style of the game and how the world fell into place as you explored it. The narration and music make the game though.

I see Killing Floor is dirt cheap again, any opinions on it?

fake edit: looks like it may be fun, and for $8 including dlc it can't be any worse than half the games I've bought on steam

real edit: Dropped $8, how bad can it be?

KF is ugly but fun, especially with friends. The enemies are vicious, horrifying and in enough numbers you pretty much have to camp (especially at higher difficulty levels) but it has lots of classes so the gameplay can be quite varied and there's much better group dynamics. They've also been extending the gameplay.

Had some fun with killing floor over the weekend. Its a loose game, but fun. I can see how it would be lots of fun with friends. Though, even with the glut of content it seems to have ( and even more from mods ) it didn't really stick with me. I somewhat missed the narrative of other games like it.

The discussion above on Bastion and people buying Xbox controllers for the PC made me want to mention this:  If you have a PS3, you don't need to buy an Xbox controller for the PC.  There is actually a free nifty little program you can run in the background of your PC called Motion Joy, that makes your PlayStation controllers work on the PC.  It even has an Xbox emulation mode which makes the PC and any game you have think your PS controller is an Xbox Controller, and it maps all the keys accordingly.  I played through Bastion like this, and have been using it on all sorts of other controller enabled games I have on steam since.

Just throught I'd mention it since I was about to buy an Xbox controller just so I could have the option on the PC, till I found out about Motion Joy.

Motion Joy gave me conflicts and generally acted janky when I tinkered with the PS3 hookup.  I also found myself inadvertently turning on the PS3 in the other room while using it on PC.  With the $28.99 wired 360 controller, I literally plugged the USB in and it worked.  It has for every game I've played so far, too.  Pretty cheap to not have to deal with jank.

Hmm, guess maybe I just got lucky then.  All I've had to do was install the program, run, and hit the enable button on the first screen that pops up.  Has worked flawlessly for me since, on a variety of games.  But I could see it having issues across a wide variety of systems, since its not a major product, so I can understand just grabbing an Xbox Controller.  Still, figured its good info for people who might not want to shell out the extra money for something they already have, and again, its worked flawlessly with almost no setup time for me.

FU1 (yuk yuk) is the only game I've requested that Steam refund my money.  Horrid, horrid port and on my last rid, which was well above recommended specs, it ran terrible.

It was a terrible game on the 360 as well, if only because of the horrible target selection code.

I figured that for the price of a pint, I'd get FU1 and am pleased to say that it did exactly as it said on the tin: I spent most of the first hour going FFFFFUUUUUUUU at it.  why so serious? I'm sure I can get another couple of hours of play out of it though. Possibly. I just keep hoping that the more I play that the combat will suddenly become more like Batman: AA or even AssCreed.  Yes, I know I'm deluding myself.

Eh, I doubt I will spend more than $20.  Seems like every time stuff goes majorly on sale, my first thought is "I already have enough stuff that I'll never play".   Hell, even I woke up tomorrow as the last person on earth, I'd have enough in my backlog to last me until September.
