For what it's worth, I tried this and thought it was pretty fun. The variable difficulty on each level was nice. It did remind me a lot of Borderlands or DDO in that it was an action RPG with instanced spaces for solo/group play. The cash shop was really unobtrusive too. It just didn't really feel like an MMO. It didn't seem very deep, and it lacked any exploration whatsoever. I'd love to see more active combat like this in other MMOs, but Dragon Nest was a bit thin for my tastes.
It's pretty much just a console twitch fighting game being used by the looks of things? Rusty hearts was pretty much the same and the general trend is probably inevitable given the next generation will be brought up on consoles. That said for team actions, strategic or raiding that approach adds a lot of noise that doesn't really improve much, it's pretty much about keeping the player busy.
That said the more twitch the game gets the more latency becomes an issue, so I'll only start caring when the game has servers on my continent.
