The cameos alone look like enough to make this a lot of fun.
I'm in.

God, I love me some Muppets but I still have trouble watching anything with Kermit since Jim Henson died. The voice just doesn't sound right. And without Frank Oz too it feels almost like listening to a dubbed thing :(
But it does look kinda fun.

I thought this was a link to one of the covers that was just done on "The Green Album". It's a good CD I recommend it to anyone who likes the Muppets. Obligatory Amazon link for previewsI'll see this with the kids. I've gotten them hooked on it. Daughter's favorite episode was the Alice Cooper one. Mine's still Brooke Shields' Alice in Wonderland.

The Tin Man showing up in the middle of the Mad Hatter's tea party is so much win.

So I went to see this with my mom today to pass some time while she was still in town.
Was not too bad, definitely not as good as the old show or the old movies but it was entertaining and had some good jokes.
The preview for every animated children's movie coming out in the next year were the worst part.

I saw this with the kids over the weekend. Something about Jason Seigel and Amy Adams was just creepy rather than fun. They both just felt really surreal and forced in their parts and I can't quite place my finger on why.
The story also dragged a little bit until they'd assembled the cast. Then it was good fun but that was only the last 1/2 hour to 45 mins of the film. I'd pick it up to check it out on when it comes to Netflix/ DVD but I can't recommend seeing it in the theater unless you're REALLY a fan of the Muppets.
ed: Oh, the Jim Parsons and NPH cameos were, in fact, priceless.

Saw the muppets as a child, saw this, loved it.
It's a muppet movie done right, lots of fourth wall breaking and interactions within our world. Not a must see in the theatre but if you're a fan I'd definitely shell out the money to support more efforts like this.

Saw it. In a word: flat.
Jokes that were funny were few and far between and even the throwaway lines didn't really add much. My biggest laugh probably came from Sad 80's Robot (and it was an obvious joke at that).
Jason Segel (at this point) has some hard limits on how well he acts, and some of it really showed here. Amy Adams, who is usually incredibly bubbly in this kind of roles, seemed washed out (she'd had a baby at around that time, if I remember my gossip mags correctly).
And Walter, the new Muppet... I think a big issue with the film was the whole, "You can do it if you believe in yourself!" message that was delivered in every scene. He was the centre of that and a completely wet rag of a character as a result.
The cinema I was in had a decent mix of kids and parents, but there were very few laughs at anything on screen.

Saw this tonight. It was great. I loved the whole nostalgia part of it.
I totally agree Jason Seigel wrote a great script and then put in a horrid performance. I would imagine it's hard working with puppets but he just seemed so... out of place.
