I know I haven't been around much. Been playing Magic, board games, and other not video-gamey stuff lately as well as working all the goddamn time. Apologies. Makes me feel half-bad asking for donations, but then if I didn't the site wouldn't continue. As such, donate to paypal. Click the button in the upper right or send paypal donatons to: schild@f13.net

Total cost for the sever is $1439.xx. I will be making calls to friends at GoDaddy for coupons. Thanks again, folks.

Maybe. Something in our hacked up code is breaking the auto upgrade so I would have to figure out out what's breaking the upgrade process or apply all of our changes manually to the latest 1.x version.

We are now a hair over $500, keep it coming folks. Thanks to the recent donators.

I think next year I'm going to do this as a Kickstarter campaign with fun little prizes. Like enamel pins or shirts or something.

What's our running total?

$697.05 after Paypal Fees. Fun fact: It took me until this year to realize I could look at payments received after fees were taken out.

So, true story.

I paid with Paypal last time but can't do so anymore because those are US-centric fuckers who try to tell European webshops they have to boycott Cuba if they want their accounts unfrozen. So I killed my Paypal acount and wrote their trashbin a strongly worded resignation letter.

Any other way to get the money to you?

It's so hilarious we still have Cuba boycotted. It's been, what, 50 years?

I hope you are proud of yourself that I had to break my boycott of Paypal on your behalf. All those starving Cuban children are your fault now. I wash my hands of it.

(clink)

Would really like to see the security fixes on the forum, though, and might can help with this if needed.  I have had a site I ran nuked from orbit due to them in the past, and would hate to see that happen here.

If we want to keep this server (preferable), $380.xx and change. If we want to spend a few days migrating and such, I think $260 or so more.

Geez, did we start late this year, or are the coffers simply more dry than in previous years?

We got very little over the year combined with poopy coupons.

Edit: To be more precise, last year I think the coupon was 35% or 40% off, maybe a bit more on top of a new server. We're not getting a new server this year because as you can see below above, the difference is $120 or so and time is still worth money. Last year the difference was hundreds of dollars as our old server plan was on their old server structure which was more expensive.

Are we renting a server or are we colocating one we own?

If the latter is cheaper, I can arrange to acquire a fairly nice one inexpensively if it'll cut the bill down.
