The reason why it is important that you all apply as soon as possible is because the Game Day clock is already ticking (but you won't be able to play until ALL 16 players joined the Playoff). This is, alas. due to the fact that I'll be leaving for Canada on August the 1st so, basically, we have to finish this thing before that happens. Right?

Me and Andy should be getting our game done tonight. One will stand. One will fall.

The first game of the playoffs is done and Andydavo goes through 2-1. I took Slibli the star Saurus and a Bloodweiser babe for my inducements.

First half the dice loved Andy, he rolled double skulls probably 3 times but rerolled them and everytime he even breathed near a Saurus the damn lizard fell over, he managed to score 4 KO's in the half and was throughly in control to score on turn 8, I just couldn't get any of my own players to stick near him.

Second half was much better from my own perspective, having the babes paid off as all my KO's returned giving me a full punching lineup of saurus's and though he did break my cage on turn 12 my lizard's finally found their knuckle dusters and hurt 2 of his players clearing the ball for a pickup and, though it was snowing, I had to risk a GFI handoff to a skink who was in range for a score with a single GFI required. All pickups and passes worked a charm and I ran in to tie the match. I kicked off with a high kick that was right to the back of the field and though Andy punched a hole through my centre he only put a couple of elves through so I marked up what I could, blitzed one of the back guys then rushed a saurus and a skink forward from my left wing. Big mistake. Leaving a massive gap for Andy to charge through now he obliges and no dodging or anything dangerous required to put himself in scoring range on turn 14. I scramble back what I can but his screen is effective and I am left with 1 saurus in range who will need to dodge away from a marker and make a double GFI in order to blitz the carrier. Heart in mouth I pray to nuffle and he answer my prayers with a 6 to make the dodge and my saurus bears down on the armour clad elf, murder in his heart but the blood rushing to his brain obviously caused serious internal shutdown somewhere because he failed the second square GFI even with re-roll to turnover and stun himself! Andy walked in the second touchdown and while I punched the 3 elves he left as punching bags for me on the next kick-off I couldn't cause any further harm and my quest for glory ended tonight.

Roll on season 5. Really enjoyed playing with you all so far, should be even more fun as the team develops over next season.

Great game, great write up. Lucky to get thru with no perms. Lets see if I have enough money for a 12th player. I fear I may need it against whoever is up next.

Good luck next season and it would be nice if we were in the same division.

Best odds for me would be sometime tonight or tomorrow -- not sure what the weekend will be like, but after that Tuesday or Thursday are my only free evenings. Then again if you see me on Steam, give me a shout and maybe we can play whenever-that-is.

Acherontic Welkin 2 - 1 Rape of Skabine

Cautious game from both sides, I think. Lamaros did however make the mistake of Apothecary'ing a linerat, which ended up costing him the ma10 rat and a Thrower.

And I'm out! After all the smack talk, Megrim picked up a handy 2-1 victory.

The game was very close and I made a few key errors with dodges, used my RO poorly and got him knocked down too often, and so forth that gave Megrim the chances he needed to make me pay.

Despite that it was a very close game, with Megrim needing his wizard and some ballsy moves to score in the second, after failing in the first. I then returned serve. The ball was in contention for a bit in the final turns before Megrim picked it up and threw and ran it in on turn 15 for 2-1. It was often a game of inches, without it swinging to much either way.

I should have scored very early but failed a reroll leap (2 in to 2) when I think I might have been able to dodge to score instead. I also failed to fix auto-pathing a number of times, for bad results. The was notable in the last few turns, when it was 1-1. First I failed to fix auto pathing when I could have got another body against his thrower with the ball, then again when I could have got another body against the ball on the ground.

Megrim kicked well, putting the ball against the sidelines both times I recieved, never giving me a chance to setup my run as I like. In hindsight I probably should have set my throwers up differently to accounts for the possibility, giving me room to move it back inside again.

Oh well. Time to look forward to next season.

Edit: Yeah as Megrim says. I'm a fair bit sick and my brain is really sluggish. I ran out of time on a few occasions, and I hit enter instead of clicking on an injury, wasting my aopth on an unskilled linerat instead of my mv 10 dauntless GR.

Then my reserve thrower was killed on the final turn.

I'll let Ingmar give the gory details since I'm on my laptop and suck at typing on it.  But there are are lot of gory details.

Beardstorm! 1 - Burrowing Beetles 0 in possibly the bloodiest game I've ever played. 4 deaths, 2 on each side - I lost level 3 and level 1 line dwarfs (Korgan and Kagain - bad day for evil dwarf sidekicks from Baldur's Gate), and Proudft lost his kick skeleton and his +agility blitz-ra. I had to use my apothecary early to save Thorgrim I from a MNG, figuring I absolutely had to have him for round 2 if I made it, which left me unable to save the poor longbeards. The stats only show 1 death inflicted for me, that is because one was on a push. I think it might be over-reporting the injuries as well since one was on a guy with decay.
