I enjoyed Borderlands for one play through.  It just had NO replay value for me once I beat the game on the first difficulty.

I'm the same somewhat.  I still play it off and on and try to get my other characters up in level, but for the most part the other characters don't add enough to keep me going.  I think I screwed up and played the sniper guy first.  No matter what I do, he seems more fun to me than anything else.

My biggest complaint of the game is how barren it is.  Sure that's part of the lore, but I guess it just gets old after awhile (much like it would be irl.)

That's about what it was for me.  But I got around 30+ hours in it, so it was worth the purchase.  FOV problems and Gamespy lameness soured the experience a little.

Wasn't there an FOV fix? Pretty sure it made it playable for me. I got about 40 hours out of it, so it was fun enough for a while. Went back and tried to play it in stereo vision with my 8800GTX and it choked a bitch, never went back after that.

At launch the fix was pretty hacky and your FOV would reset anytime you used sprint.  So you had to bind it to a key.  You ended up with your FOV switching back and forth constantly.  That was really annoying.   Did they ever patch FOV into the settings?

Borderlands would have been pretty terrible as a solo experience, which I'm guessing is how most people play it.

Rage is currently on midweek madness sale at -33% for $40.  why so serious?

I am super bummed I bought this release day. I think I played for a total of 20 minutes so far. I could have saved $20.

Likewise.  It still doesn't work with my drivers, the entire world is untextured pale blue.  This is an improvement from the last patch, though.  I might someday throw together a video of all the video glitches I've had with this game, it's fucking rediculous.

... I've currently saved 90 USD$ on the game using the discount code, "wait for reviews".

I liked borderlands, it had a sense of style and lots of things to shoot at.... even if they were largely identical things. It's more like a FPS version of diablo where half the fun is seeing what they'll drop. That said it was a poor console port in the first place and aging.

How's ARMA II ? It's on midweek madness and looks interesting enough.

I was not impressed with ARMA II - at least not the free version. There's realism and then there's ARMA II. I prefer my shooty military shooters to be more shooty and less "Who shot me and why do I have to limp at 3 feet per day until someone else finishes me off?"

I still think the lot of you are broken and don't understand fun (or possibly just an obsessive need to find that slightly cooler gun than the last one).

Some kind of fantasy strategy game today. I'm not sure how bad it is, but the lure of $3.50 is strong. I would almost buy it, download it, and then figure out it's a digital turd rather than even bother researching it.

It's pretty entertaining for a while multiplayer, I think, but as a single player game it is not terribly entertaining no.

I enjoyed it more than once as a multiplayer-with friends game. It didn't hold me well enough to play through again solo. FPS combined with WoW moreso than Diablo.
