I finally soloed your stupid ass. It only took being level 54 and a bunch of Moria gear and a legendary weapon.  Anyway if anyone needs help with this most annoying step of the epic I actually know where to find the stupid book now and can actually kill the stuff on the way to it, and I'll probably be playing LOTRO for at least a couple weeks now that I'm unstuck on the epic. |

Oh cool, I had read at some point that when they updated Volume I to all be soloable the later parts were not changed. I've probably missed about 300 pages of patch notes though.

Well, I could also be mistaken, but I think the new ones were designed that way while the old ones were changed... meaning you get that super buff. I think the escort ones are still crap, though.

They just changed it, not more than a month or so ago I think. Some chapters of Volume 2 that required a group were adapted to the skirmish system, others had the 'epic buff' applied to them. |

Ah, well, I have good timing. In other news I got hacked for the first time in any game ever yesterday. Still not sure how, machine seems to be clean. Brute-forced seems possible I guess, the password I was using was long-ish but not particularly strong. |

I think Turbine has some security problems, never figured out how I was hacked, and it was before their new reimbursement scheme.

I got hacked maybe two weeks before the new scheme, and while they didn't return a single item to me, they were generous enough with the gold. Did they do nothing at all for you? |

There were undocumented updates. Example: Armor sets from "classic instances."
Pretty rad weapons from GB turn in... and Annunimas armor. I love Turbine.
