I was just hoping for something better than the disappointing Despicable Me; boy howdy. Megamind exceeded all expectations. It was absolutely hilarious, easily on par with Pixar's work, and played the superhero genre like a fiddle. If you liked The Incredibles, or just funny/superhero movies, you really ought to give this a watch.

Obligatory, yes I searched, and here are some trailers, not that they do the movie justice (and of course give away half the plot). Link

Thanks for reminding me how Despicable Me was so horrid. The only good part was when he was reading the book to the little girls.

Even my four-year-old son thought it wasn't good.

And he really liked Unstoppable. (Which is the best Tony Scott film, about trains with Denzel Washington, he has made)...(Not that he remade his own film the taking of Pelham 1 2 3.)

I thought it was quite good if not quite great.

You could do a pretty interesting think piece about how this idea that supervillains are the geeks and outcasts of school culture and superheroes are asshole jocks has grown into a full-blown remapping of the superhero genre. Austin Grossman's Soon I Will Be Invincible is one example; the film "Sky High" had some elements of this as well.

I was not life or industry changing, so it sucked? I guess.

I thought Despicable Me was a much better movie. Megamind's jokes were all in the trailer and there wasn't anything left for the movie.

Dislike? No. I didn't. I just didn't like it. I was very "meh" about the movie. Megamind was much more enjoyable marred only by Will Farrel in the lead role. (I'm getting alot of Will Farrel burnout lately.)

I liked both of them. Fuck you all.  DRILLING AND MANLINESS

Tuned in, immediately get to watch cringey Ubisoft talking head offering her deepest sympathies to the families impacted by the Orlando shooting while flanked by a man in a giraffe suit and some sort of "horrifically garish neon costumes through the ages" exhibit or something.  We need to stop this fucking planet right now and sort some shit out. -Kail
