I'll wait to hear how the pc port turns out, if they're even bothering this time.

Not only are they porting to PC, but they're handling it in-house this time.

They spent a huge amount of money advertising this game at the con. But they had maybe one corridor, non-playable, showing the game in its publisher's booth. Looking forward to seeing this at PAX.

You could not be anywhere in the South Hall without hearing the Kanye West-infused Saint's Row 3 trailer.

Game itself was pretty cool looking, though.

Looks like the E3 demo.

Looks like the E3 demo.

It's the same demo, but now it has developer commentary, which is fairly enlightening.

Malakili forgot to mention jets, jumping into car windows, wrestling moves and human cannon trucks with a cat face. This game is going to be awesome and I'm there day 1.

You forgot to mention the detailed demonstration of the fact that every weapon has a crotch punch animation.

Yea, this is a pre-order for me.

I don't know if the novelty value is worth a day 1 purchase.  I'll have just as much fun with the shenanigans after 6 months when its 1/2 off on Steam, and as fun as it looks, even the outrageous becomes mundane when you're doing it non stop.  To me that looks less sandbox and more shooting gallery.  Again, fun, but not must have immediately for me.

Heart Heart Heart Heart Heart Heart Heart Heart Saints Row. Just the amount of fun the game provides is fantastic. Also, I have another friend who really loves it too, so we coop the whole thing.

I don't know if you've played Saints Row, but they work all of the insanity into the storyline missions and all of the side missions. That Demo makes it seem like every corner is packed with something ridiculous to do, but they clearly set it up so they had everything in a local area to be shown off in a good amount of time.

Friend of mine hasn't played Saints Row 2, so we're going to do that co-op since we're on an old game binge.

I got Saints Row 2 on steam for cheap at some point and played it some, I liked it it quite a bit (at least as much and maybe more than GTA), but it didn't scream "this is worth fulll price" but then again, I almost am never willing to pay full price for a game I'll probably play mainly single player.

I can't argue with that. I think the full value comes from the co-op combined with the fun they pack into the game and is why I'm so willing to drop money on day 1.

One of the Volition guys posted some tidbits about the PC version on GAF:

Quote from: OneLetter from GAF
Some of the footage we've released has been captured using the PC version. It's coming along really nicely so far and I'm sure we'll talk more about the PC version in the near future. If you're wondering about specs, I'd use RF:A's as a baseline for the "Recommended" at this point.

Also, SR:TT uses a completely different engine than RF:A's Geo-Mod engine. As we've stated before, there's no Geo-Mod in SR:TT.

SR:TT is also on a custom-built, brand new engine compared to SR2, which has overhauled and upgraded basically everything compared to the previous game. This is one of the reasons you can't just import your SR2 character into SR:TT, and also why we're releasing the Initiation Station before the game is released so everyone can get a feel for the new character customization system and begin uploading their creations.

Quote
We're using the full Steamworks suite for SR:TT.
