BG3 and not from Obsidian! Yes!
Can they hire Obsidian writers for the characters and keep Larian people for the combat mechanics?
And hire someone new altogether for the overall plot...

Interesting! Hope they plan on using 5th edition.
Also curious what the level range will be.

I hope they'll have an option to import our BG2 TOB save, allowing to start as a new character with similar looks / classes as the original (but level 1, of course)... ... and then putting an optional Kangaxx-like super hard encounter in the game where you have to fight a 5e version of your old character

Maybe it will be a direct follow-up to two, just like it was to the first one, and you start at level 20. Game is you working your way though the epic levels of AD&D till you achieve actual godhood at level 30.

GMG has 37% off 12 months of PS Plus right now. The link from the promo email didn't work, but I was able to click around the site and find a valid item to put in the cart.

Was the Spider-Man dlc worth a purchase? It’s only $16 ish right now.
I wish Days Gone was down to $25-30. I might do a fun purchase at that price but not at $40.

It'll get there eventually if you are willing to wait, just like God of War and Spider-Man are both $20 on sale right now.

So, after launching in Japan 7 years ago with promises of a western launch, Phantasy Star Online 2 is finally actually being imported. Kind of. Not before Spring 2020. Seriously? The game has been out 7 years and it takes another one to translate it? This news managed to make me happy and disappointed at the same time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgOifdVKYDc

I'm curious what GRRM could have possibly contributed to this aside from the rapidly declining value of his name.

According to a Q&A with Miyazaki, he provided the lore of the gods of this world. Personally, I loved From Software stuff and lore so much already that I fail to see how Martin could improve it and not ruin it, but I used to like Martin too. I just don't particularly want to see a mix of those styles. I am cautiously pessimistic here, I hope Miyazaki will be able to work his magic and basically obfuscate Martin's stuff into more of his own usual hazy and dark blend.

Guys, have any of you tried the recently announced XBox game pass for PC? I downloaded the app on Win 10 (also updated to the latest Win version, 1903, as requested). When I open it and try to log in, it doesn't show anything, it stays on the generic welcome page. I can actually log in through the browser, but you need the app in order to download games.

I just downloaded it and it works fine for me. It's just another pathetic launcher compared to Steam, as bad as Origin or Epic or Uplay (it's unbelievable how bad they are interface-wise), but it works. And all those games for 4 euros? Deal.

Messed around a bit with powershell thanks to some hints on the Web, and now it works for me too. Yep, downloading Metro Exodus as we speak. That's a fucking deal for €4 (will probably try out Vampyr as well).

Assassins Creed Odyssey (which I have enjoyed) is getting a Quest Builder tool, so now you can input quests to the community. I look forward to collecting 12 Spartan penises as this goes live.

Midnight Ghost Hunt looks like the definition of a 7.0 on Metacritic. So, it'll be fine.

I think we had this conversation already (or a very similar one), but I saw a new FFVII trailer and I was floored by what I saw....right up until the real time action combat. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. I really don't understand this thinking, like at all.

Just watched the FFVII trailer and... what the fuck? I hated the quasi-real-time nature of the original VII, what the fuck is this tappity-tappity-tappity shit now?

I dunno... I like the trailer - but FFVII has nostalgia hooks in me from early college days. Gameplay if that is what it is, looks to be a modernized version of the original turn based.

Holy shit. Collection of Mana in the Switch.
Including the never-ported Mana 3 game.
Out today.
Also, Breath of the Wild 2 in development.
Nintendo wins E3.

I don’t want modernized turn based, especially when it doesn’t look like turn based at all. I want actual turn based. That is what FF is supposed to be, and exactly the reason that none of their newer stuff actually means anything to anybody. Which is a bit of an exaggeration, but fuck it. 15 is basically an action RPG, and that’s what this looks like. Fuck that.

I was under the impression that Breath of the Wild was the last Link game? Is this a new hero? Or are they ditching the last Link game part? Or is this a prequel or something?
Reading about it, seems to be a sequel.

I need a t-shirt that reads "Final Fantasy 7 never had turn-based combat; it just paused in the combat menus if you turned on that option".
Son told me about the FF7 remake and I almost died from lack of interest.

ATB (Active Time Battle) has been around since 4. Everything else is just adding meters and various layers of doodads.
Kind of interested in that anime SMT looking game, Astral Chain. BoW2 will be awesome, whatever it is in actuality. I just want another game in that framework.

I'm way more excited about the Mana ports and a new Animal Crossing. But, Ninty is stepping on their dicks with the new Pokemon games so it's kind of a mixed bag.

Fine, it was ATB or Turn Based. I tried both ways. Both imply a certain sense of "okay, it's this persons turn now, I have to enter a command", the main difference being how much urgency I had to have. It is a far cry from what you see in, for example, FF15. No matter how you spin it, the series has been going away from some sort of Turn Based combat and heading towards button mashing action. A mistake, in my opinion. I am the exact target demographic for a FFVII remake, and now I am wondering if I will even bother.
