There's only one spawn point that everyone shares.
The world expands as needed, it's effectively infinite in size (I think due to fp precision limitations it can't be more than 8x the surface area of the earth but you'll run out of memory first).
There's a *lot* of stuff built there. It's pretty amazing. One thing that I love about minecraft is due to its simple design, on modern hardware you get *insane* draw distance and see huge structures waaaay off in the distance.
Does anybody have an up-to-date map render of the f13 world?

I've been putting this off for a while for trying it. Some of those videos make me want to play really badly.
I really don't want to, and Civ 5 is out tomorrow.

I found a cave with both lava and water and I don't know how to profit from this development.

I found a pretty extensive cave system (plus a mob spawner with broken(?) zombies) near an unfinished castle, I put up some pillars+torches by all the openings I could find, there is still more to explore down in the bottom, I ran out of picks. The large sand pillar it the one right by the mob spawner.
Whoever owns the castle; feel free to tear those down and put something else prettier nearby if they are messing up your view!

That's my unfinished castle but you're a-ok. The only thing I have that way is a tunnel through the continent at sea level and you're a ways off of that too. At some point I need to finish my "iron" castle...

I started playing Minecraft days after seeing that movie I think. Though, the server didn't have many big projects done yet at that point there was always stuff being added. |

Can you give directions? I'm south of the Penis Tower, west of the Bat Signal. Most of the stuff is crowded around the initial spawn point, which you can teleport to with /home. I usually head west along the treelined bridge and head left at MINE. I maed a road. Looks like someone has chopped down some trees on the tree bridge, and I decree that person a bastard. Further destruction of landmarks may cause me to call for a Culling. |

Can anyone give a Minecraft for Dummies post real quick? After playing singleplayer, it seems like there would be a whole shitload of grunt work to build anything. Not to mention I couldnt find any coal, so I would just block myself in somewhere for nighttime so I didnt get killed. Also, I couldnt mine very far due to lack of light.
Is there an easier way to make stuff on the f13 server?

Coal is ALL OVER the place, you should be able to find some without too much trouble. In any event, in multiplayer there are no monsters (which i actually prefer over single player, but thats another discussion), so you can just build all you want with no worries. Harvesting mass quantities of stone to build things is actually not very time consuming at all once you get an Iron or better pick. |
