Bunk,

I think you'll need to work the waiver wire early and often when the season starts.  Your team lacks depth and bench value.

Note: I hate being critical of anyone's draft.  So much can change during the course of a season.

No offense taken, I know the bench lacks depth outside of McGahee. Based on past experience, I will be relying on guys who can't control themselves when it comes to the waivers. Eventually they drop decent players that had bad weeks to grab the flavor of the day.

And you're right about the season - there is really no way to predict a league from the draft. Last year's NHL draft I did, 4 of my top 6 picks were injured for 20 or more games.

I hate Forte. He fucked me last year with the huge falloff in TDs and yards.

I just got payback for being critical of Bunk's draft.  I did a piss poor job drafting this year.  Time to find a team on the waiver wire.

Couldn't make the live draft but looks like auto-draft didn't screw me too much.

I think I did pretty good. Got Brees on the autodraft, as well as two good wideouts. Running back is a bit iffy (Ronnie Brown, Marion Barber, Brandon Jacobs) but ought to do well enough. Week 10 will be tough with both my starting wideouts on bye.

I like your draft better than mine.  I think Jacobs will do better than expected and Sproles is a smart handcuff with a rookie starter.

I took a few gambles in my draft, but if they pan out it will be very nice. Overall, I think RB this season will be a total guessing game. Nobody really knows what to expect out of most of these guys.

RB always seems like a crapshoot.  I consider myself lucky that I got (JV squad, mind you) Ray Rice, because he's GOT to be good for 1500 combined, if he stays healthy.  I like RBs who are also really good receivers, especially in a low output passing game like Baltimore where they tend to dump it off a lot.  Got Pierre Thomas as well, which should be sweet if he stays healthy.

Of course, I thought the same way last year when I got LT and Matt Forte  Tantrum

My line-up isn't too shabby, but I've got shit for bench depth in the JV squad.  So it goes.

Mayhap we can post our starting squads for the benefit of those who can see into the other leagues:

QB - Phillip Rivers (which I am quite pleased with)
RB - Ray Rice
RB - Pierre Thomas
WR - Roddy White (yay!)
WR - Percy Harvin (I actually kinda like this one as a darkhorse)
TE - Zach Miller (meh)
K - Lawrence Tynes (who cares?)
D - Pittsburgh (had them last year...they score lots of TDs)

Got Felix Jones, T.O. and Jonny Knox on the bench.  And Kyle Orton (haha).  I don't love my bench, but I could see them fitting in certain weeks.  And maybe Knox will turn into a Juggernaut, if only Cuntler can stop throwing to the wrong team.

Funny thing is, I wasn't even trying for Flacco, but still got him in both leagues. So wacky.

Bat Country JV League

QB - Joe Flacco
WR - Miles Austin
WR - Greg Jennings
RB - Frank Gore
TE - Jason Witten
W/R - Michael Crabtree
BN - Matt Forte
BN - Derrick Mason
BN - Braylon Edwards
BN - Chad Henne
BN - Will Heller
K - Rob Bironas

DEF - Philadelphia
BN - New England

Then, in a second family league I'm in

QB   Joe Flacco, Bal QB
RB   DeAngelo Williams, Car RB
RB   Jamaal Charles, KC RB  P
RB/WR   Mike Wallace, Pit WR
WR   Marques Colston, NO WR
WR   Mike Sims-Walker, Jac WR
TE   Chris Cooley, Was TE
D/ST   Patriots D/ST, NE D/ST
K   Jay Feely, Ari K

BENCH
Bench   Kevin Kolb, Phi QB
Bench   Visanthe Shiancoe, Min TE
Bench   Kenny Britt, Ten WR
Bench   Correll Buckhalter, Den RB  P
Bench   Kevin Smith, Det RB  P

I picked 9th in JV. During the middle rounds I picked up a third WR instead of DEF. Right after me, all the best DEFs went out the window. Still, I think I'm okay.

QB / A. Rodgers

WR / R. Moss

WR / M. Colston

RB / J. Forsett

TE / D. Clark

W-R / T. Hightower

K / M. Crosby

DEF / Inianapolis

BN WR _ M. Floyd
BN WR _ J. Cotchery
BN WR _ D. Driver
BN QB  _ M. Stafford
BN TE  _ T. Heap
BN RB  _ L. Tomlinson

I was 10th in the regular league.

QB - Kevin Kolb
WR - Randy Moss
WR - Reggie Wayne
RB - Beanie Wells
TE - Visanthe Shiancoe
W/R - Jahved Best
K - Josh Scobee
DEF - Dallas

My WR's are the strongest point on my team, which is what murdered me last year when they were total sucking chest wounds in my lineup. My QB is a total gamble, but I have Carson Palmer to back him up if things go off the rails. I'm unsure if Beanie Wells will be worth a damn, but we'll see. Shiancoe is a solid TE, and Best should get some good carries on a Detroit team looking to control the ground. I like my Defense and my kicker was an afterthought.

QB - A. Rogers
WR - L. Fitzgerald
WR - C. Ochocinco
RB - L. McCoy
TE - O. Daniels
W/R - K. Moreno
K - R. Lindell
D - Bears

Bench
WR - S. Moss
WR - M. Wallace
WR - L. Evans
RB - J. Ringer
QB - B. Rapelisberger
D - SD

I feel pretty good about the team but not great. RB will obviously be a big issue if McCoy peters out and Moreno's hamstring doesn't get better.

Autodraft did ok for me I guess:

Starters:

QB - Brett Favre (Min)
WR - Miles Austin (Dal)
WR - Hakeem Nicks (NYG)
RB - Adrian Peterson (Min)
TE - Kellen Winslow (Cle)
W/R - Pierre Thomas (NO)
K - Rob Bironas (Oak)
D - SF

Bench:

RB - Reggie Bush (NO)
RB - Steve Slaton (Hou)
TE - John Carlson (Sea)
WR - Demaryius Thomas (Den)
QB - Josh Johnson (TB)
D - Ind

-------------------------------------------

Should all right, the obvious highlights being Peterson and Austin.  I hate having Brett on there with Peterson as well, I mean, they could super blow up again, or Brett could Favre out early this season.  A bit RB heavy, and I'm hoping that the RBs in NO figure their shit out.  Thomas (Den) already injured makes me double lawl too.  First injured Fantasy Player of the season?

Also, I didn't know who Josh Johnson was until a few days ago.

Anyone want a decent RB sub (Slaton)?

Other than Favre, I think you did quite well.  Your bench needs help, but I'd be happy to have your starting lineup.

Bat Country:
QB: Culter
WR: Andre Johnson
WR: Wes Welker
RB: Steven Jackson
TE: Antonio Gates
W/R: Donald Driver
K: Kaeding
D: Cin

Bench: CJ Spiller, Alex Smith, LT, Braylon Edwards, Benn, Walter

JV league (Autodraft):
QB: Culter
WR: Andre Johnson
WR: Lee Evans (I had Sidney Rice pre injury)
RB:  DeAngelo Williams
TE: Tony Gonzales
W/R: CJ Spiller
K: Prater
D: NO

Bench: Jahvid Best, Ronnie Brown, Carson Palmer, Jermaine Gresham, Sidney Rice, Jacoby Jones

WR is obviously a glaring weak point. For this team.

Overall, I'm not super psyched about my teams.  If Culter implodes, I've got decent backup options.  If Andre Johnson goes down, I'll be royally screwed.

Feel the same way.  But good QB's always seem to put up the highest numbers in our league.  So having a.....well, a Favre could be bad this season.  I'll give him a game or 2 to see how it goes.

And yes, my bench is full of "might not play" second strings.
