Isaac Clarke is... TONY STARK. Man, way to put a major plot spoiler in the teaser trailer.

(I eagerly await a game poking fun at futuristic games featuring multi-panel, automatically collapsing / forming helmets.)

Video is gone.

I'm 1 achievement off the full 1000 for Dead Space, so I'm looking forward to Dead Space 2 and how they progress the series. Maybe they'll give the protagonist more magic plasmids abilities.

Also: Dead Space is, overall, a better experience than BioShock. I'll give BioShock has better level design, but that's about the only place it surpasses DS. So it's sad that BioShock got all the accolades while DS is recognised as a great game few people played.

Dead Space got game of the year from us.

Bioshock did not.

Dead Space didn't supremely impress me.  It had interesting features, but felt too linear, and I was hoping for more exploration/secret-finding in the mix.

Too linear seems to be a trait of these games starting back to Resident Evil. Bioshock was particularly heinous in how every area featured a hub area that branched off into different sections. I guess it would make sense given the underwater construction...

Dead Space seemed like it could have been a pretty good game if I were able to play it without wanting to put my mouse through my monitor.   why so serious?

Saw the trailer on Xbox Live. Nice, and reflects the point that if you lived through the events of Dead Space, you'd never ever sleep ever again.

I never actually finished the original, the final boss was so annoying that I was content to just sell the game and watch the ending on Youtube. But despite all that, the more I think about the new game, the more I want to return to the universe.

More Deadspace?  Yes please.

When someone asks me for a suggestion on a good cheap XBox game I always tell them Deadspace.  No one has been unhappy yet.

Dead Space totally immerses me in its world within seconds of playing.  Consequently I found it too terrifying to continue past half way.  I look forward to / dread number two.

Hmm, been really wanting to play Dead Space, but been waiting for it to show up on a weekend deal on steam.  May have to just pay the full price and try it though.

Don't get it on the PC IMO.  You can't imagine how fucked up the mouselook is.  Imagine playing CS while some fucker changes your mouse sensitivity every few seconds.

I am surprised they allowed Z-Fighting to make it into the background of their teaser trailer.

I'm hoping they don't do what they did to the RE series and take the story into some ridiculous tangent with lots of various factions and shadowy conspiracies.

One disappointment I had with DS was the narrative - I was expecting some sort of twist that wasn't obvious, yet that's exactly what was served up. Sadly, the 'shadowy conspiracy' angle is all there, ready to go.

Not sure if people saw this before, but some limited in-game footage exists of DS2. Iron Man indeed, but it looks like they are trying to make Clarke a lot less clunky than he was in the first game.

/necromorph

I'm about an hour in on PS3. Feels faster and more action oriented than the first which makes it more fluid and exciting. I don't remember nodes and cash being all over the place but I do remember the feeling of dread and being jumpy; my heart got pumping from the very first scene. Some of the scares are F.E.A.R.ish hallucinations which I don't care for (only liked the ones in Eternal Darkness) but they are quite scary.

Isaac is now talking. His voice acting is good and it allows for more character development but mute Isaac had his own charm. I still don't like stomping on boxes for items like foot piņatas.

Multiplayer looks to be like Left 4 Dead with Isaacs vs. Necromorphs, monsters able to see through walls, etc.  EA online code required outside of two day trial.  Ohhhhh, I see.  Will try it later.

Overall the heebie-jeebies are strong so far.

Hated. HATED the first one, with a capital hate. The camera was counterintuitive as fuck for me.

That said, the storyline is awesome and the universe is deep. I started playing the iPad version and it made up for my disdain for the original. Bought two and will start playing it as soon as I finish my latest ME2 run through.

Was there anything else in particular that turned you off about it, or was the camera just a big enough PITA that you never got past it?

I enjoyed Dead space greatly up until the final levels when it just seemed to get a bit too long.  I hope this time they add some more interaction besides the legion of things you have to slice and dice.  Oh and more ammo please.

Just the goddamn camera. If I could've played it more like Mass Effect 2, I would've eaten that shit up. The game itself is engrossing as fuck, the control scheme just made me want to poke forks in my eyes.

I actually picked up the first game at some fractional price on a steam sale.  Its very well done and fun, though I do understand the complains about the mouse control.  However, I guess I'm more patent than most people here, as I just told myself, "Eh, deal with it."  Been playing it a bunch, am almost at the end, and had a great time all along the way (though I have no cash or ammo left...).

Having said that I'll probably buy the 2nd game for my PS3, but I don't regret the PC purchase.

I made the mistake of buying it at full price after hearing rave reviews on it, so I was VERY bitter about the poor mouse controls.  A shame because if the controls had been marginally less shitty I think I would have loved it.
