Someone mind explaining the thought process that turned Thunderbirds, a show involving puppets, rocket ships, asian stereotypes and explosions into a movie about "KID POWER!!!!1" ?

I only saw one preview for thunderbirds.  And it was enough to make me never want to see that preview or anything else related to thunderbirds EVER again.

I could have done without the Sugar Ray song on the "Around the World" trailer, but otherwise it looks like a fun Disney-fied version of an adventure movie.

As for the Thunderbirds, I was skeptical when I first heard about it, but figured it could be a good action-adventure campy flick. Now that I see the "Kid Powa" approach, blech.

You know, after seeing that Thunderbirds trailer, I fully expect we shall be in for a Power-Ranger-esqe saturday morning tv show.

And besides, its directed by freaking Riker.  Has anyone who used to play a startrek character ever done anything that wasnt directed at a children/young teen audience?

I almost said Leonard Nimoy, but then my head filled with the sounds and images of him singing his 'frodo' song/video.  And I never want to see that again.

NOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooo

The teaser on the universel site looks better, less kids, more BOOM.

The trailer linked above looks like Spy Kids IV. With WORSE CGI.

DAMM YOU! DAMM YOU TO HELL!

Unfortunately, that is almost guaranteed on my part, considering I work at a theatre (hell, I will probably be forced to screen it to make sure it is ready for public showing :-/  )

I think http://www.wilwheaton.net">Wil Wheaton is a little too angst ridden to be considered kid friendly. Then again he hasn't really done much since Star Trek other than his website and a show for either G4 or Tech Tv (can't remember which), hence the angst.

She screwed up her courage and leaned close to me, her full, pouting lips just inches from mine. Her perfume embraced me. Her ample cleavage seductively longed to bust out from beneath her thin cotton T-shirt. She drew a nervous breath, bit down on the corner of her mouth, and asked, breathlessly,"Didn't you used to be an actor?"

"WHAT?! USED TO BE?! I STILL AM!" I hollered, as images of a hot Hooters threesome were replaced with images of myself on Celebrity Boxing.
