Dunno if any of you are into hardcore/metalcore but I just found out that No Bragging Rights made an album last year and it owns.
The shouty parts are a wee bit too shouty and the singy parts are a bit too mersh. But they meet in the middle to make it pretty cool. The band is sick as hell.

I fucking hate Kanye, but at least he pulls out a few decent chops on the new stuff. As long as you try not to listen too hard to a rich black dude bitching ironically. Even a few recent appearances by Lay-Z have been pretty decent, I wonder if some new blood has the old dudes worried.

I know there's at least ONE Die Antwoord fan on f13, so this is for you.  To the rest... sorry!   Ohhhhh, I see.

No, context is not required. I'm pretty sure it'd be weird as fuck with a Wiki attached.

Probably because it's getting harder and harder to like Ozzy, what with that horrible reality show and the bossy nasal wife.  Or maybe I dunno.

Because it was supposed to be a full, original lineup reunion album and tour, and they kind of fucked Bill Ward out of the deal by either not paying him enough or just not working with him.

But it's still a good album.

That's sort of sad.  I like Bill Ward and he's awesome at his job.  And since he's off the sauce and drugs (afaik), he doesn't even let people set his face on fire anymore.  Did they try and cheat him or something?  I'm getting SO tired of bands doing this sort of thing to each other.  It makes my head hurt.  This is why I don't work in artist management anymore.  Either the managers are trying to screw the band or the label is trying to screw the band and the managers or the band is trying to screw each other... some or all of that.  Music industry is fucked from the inside out.  I'm so happy to see some self publishing and cutting out the labels, at least.  They're the most devious ones in the mix.  I would have loved to see that line up.   Heartbreak

Wow.  I heard Kim left a few weeks ago and assumed they'd be done.  Do you know if she recorded before she left, or is this the new bassist?

The backing vocals and bass on that one were apparently done by a Jeremy Dubs.  Kim Shattuck from The Muffs will be replacing Deal for the upcoming European tour.

Over and out.

I am a Music Thread virgin and by all accounts have horrible taste in music (but I fucking LOVE music) so go easy on me...but I have recently discovered that I might be into metalcore.  More specifically, I stumbled across some stuff from Atreyu and found that I couldn't get enough.  It is just the perfect mix of high speed thrashing, ridiculous drum beats, with nice singer guy being complimented perfectly by screaming devil-voice guy.  Does that make me weird?

Anyway, if you have recommendations of stuff that comes close to this, or is in your opinion, "better", I am all ears.

This. He's a great guitarist who really doesn't know how to translate those licks into good songs.

That's a bit unfair. The track Signe linked is intentionally robotic.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0QlJaJStZs

I'm not a fan of most instrumental rock guitarists like Satriani or Vai, but John 5 isn't too bad. I'd put his album above most of those other two wanker's solo work. All great guitarists, of course.

On the other hand I'll listen to Stephane Wrembel for days on end. Finally got around to learning the rest of the A section of Bistro Fada. Also, the dude just sets things on fire. Such mad chops, such great melody and composition...and then he improvs so much of it off the cuff, really displaying the mastery of said melody and theory.

True. But I've listened to other stuff of his and never made it through an entire album. If I'm going to listen to a guy go off on guitar solo, I'll choose Buckethead, Vai or Satriani over him. They just write better songs.

This is the difference between a musician and a guitar technician.  There are plenty of the latter but few of the former.  Hell, Clapton showed that you only need one note to make music and the guy is a solid technical guitarist.  While I appreciate Vai, Satriani, Malmsteen, and SRV, their guitar wankery gets old really fast.
