League of Legends - v09.25.24

New Features

    * New Tutorial Now Playable: Tutorial is a new option choice after selecting Play from the landing page
    * New Announcer System: New Announcer Voice and New Announcement Text. The audio levels for the new announcer do not match the old levels. Players that have changed their default audio settings may want to adjust the volume levels in game to match the following list. 100 means the slider is all the way to the right and 50 means the slider is in the middle:
          o Master Volume: 100
          o Music: 50
          o Sound Effects: 100
          o Characters: 50
          o Announcer: 50
    * New Alternate Attack Animations: Now certain champions have alternate and critical strike attack animations. We will be adding more animations for more champions in future releases
    * Players who disconnect or leave a game prematurely will have their character automatically use Recall back to base.
    * Pets can now be controlled after selecting them with a left mouse click. Left clicking elsewhere or pressing escape will return selection to the hero. (Original Pet control through alt clicking is still in place and can be used instead)



Champions

    * A New Champion Approaches: Nasus, the Curator of the Sands
          o Siphoning Strike: Nasus strikes his foe, dealing damage and increasing the power of his future Siphoning Strikes if he slays his target.
          o Wither: Nasus ages his target, decelerating their movement and attack speeds over 5 seconds.
          o Spirit Fire: Nasus unleashes a delayed spirit flame at a location, dealing damage and reducing the armor of enemies who stand on it.
          o Avatar of Death: Nasus assumes his true form, the Avatar of Death. While in this form he gains additional Health and Attack Speed, and drains nearby enemies' max health and converts it into bonus damage for the duration of the skill.
          o Soul Eater (Passive): Nasus drains his foe's spiritual energy, giving him a natural Lifesteal.


    * Anivia
          o Glacial Storm
                + Now cancels if Anivia is stunned/silenced
          o Flast Frost
                + Timer before Flash Frost can explode reduced by .2 seconds
          o Crystalize
                + Reduced the duration of the push effect
          o Frost Bite

    * New Mastery: Burning Embers: While your Ignite spell is on cooldown, your champion has an additional 10 ability power.
    * New Mastery: Insight: Clarity will now grant 100% of mana to allies.
    * Teleport: Increased Cooldown from 4 ½ minutes to 5
    * Cleanse: Reduced Cooldown from 120 to 100
    * Fortify: Now applies Splash Damage


Turrets

    * Moved Turrets to allow players to path around them on Summoner Rift
    * Turrets can no longer be dodged
    * Rotated Turrets to face the proper direction
    * Decreased Global XP from 300 to 270
    * Decreased Attack Range from 750 to 700
    * Turrets now gain scaling damage per hit against champions
          o 1st shot = 75% damage
          o Each additional shot increases damage by 25% (200% cap)
          o Damage bonus clears after 4 seconds of not attacking a champion


HUD Changes and Optimizations

    * Shop: Higher level item builds are now on the top instead of the right hand side
    * Shop: The home button in the left pane was changed to a icon
    * Top Bar: Kill/Death/Assist labels were changed to icons: Dagger, Skull and Hand respectively
    * Character Info: Re-skinned the borders for the character info to match the look of the interface
    * Character Info: Widened the window
    * Options window(s): Widened the window
    * Optimizations to performance of the HUD at lower frame rates
    * Added Stop ‘V’ and when holding down Hold ‘H’ it works like stop until it’s lifted.


General

    * Fixed a bug which made some icons show up with incorrect colors.
    * Baron Nashor: Can no longer be outranged by Lich, Tristana, or Cardmaster
    * Recall: Now has a buff icon and sound
    * Summoning Beacon particles at the start of the game.
    * Load Time Optimizations
    * Bandwidth Optimizations
    * Crash Bug Fixes
    * Fixed a problem with units rotating during attacks at odd times
    * Fixed a bug with pathfinding related to pathing through Brush
    * Multiple clicking for movement fixed (ie the system no-longer ignores clicks)
    * Reduced the size League of Legends takes up on disk
    * Client memory footprint improvements
    * Corpses no longer grant sight client side (FOW bug)

So playing Blitzcrank again after the claw speed was restored.  Too bad about silence but not a big surprise really.  He had too many disables.  Really makes it one of the lamest ult's in the game now but it was all about claw to punch for me anyways and he has one of the best passives.  Kayle gets a minor overhaul compared to the last one but some big changes again.  Back to the drawing board.

Fuck you Morgana, that makes me feel a bit better.  That cooldown is still low as hell but sucks for her about the dark binding nerfs.  Fuck you Card Master, yes please.  Nunu ult gets a big fuck you.  Hell yes.  I think I'll try Corki out now that he's been nerfed at least once.  Giving up Fiddlesticks since I was terrible with him and apparently he was good enough to warrant a nerf.  Gangplank's ult wasn't good enough?  I'm really tired of that fucking pirate.

New hero, visually he feels a little rushed, I sort of like his voice and sayings but all his effects seem sort of meh.  I can't tell how OP he is, I don't think he's as bad as the last two but nobody knows how to build him yet so who knows.

Still an ugly character.

I'm going to try Nasus when I get home, but I can't really say how excited I am about him based on the description. Every single new character since and including Kassadin feels rushed. Mundo, Blitz, and Janna are exceptionally bad and make Maphite and Kass look better by comparison.

His overall look is just not that detailed, same problem Blitz has though Blitz just has a goofy walk animation coupled with strange design.  Janna is really lame looking too.  Nasus though needs some more detail and an actual color scheme but also his attack animations/effects are garbage.  Which isn't true of the other new characters except Mundo.  Also I think Corki and Katarina were well done visually.

A friend of mine who plays Eve a lot is really happy about her stealth now lasting as long as Twitch's. Seems like a pretty powerful buff for her.

Kayle still sucks, adding a bit of damage back into her 'turn me into a ranged attacker' ability is not enough, they completely missed the point, it has to be +AP damage so it also increases when you stack it for reckoning (her main damage+slow ability). The addition back in of retribution damage when one of your fellow hero dies is also not enough, it should be a stun like before. They're trying to make her back into what she was because they CLEARLY failed (NO ONE plays her) but they are failing at that, too.

Her 4 second invincibility ultimate is still annoying to use (beyond the huge cooldown) since you have to click on your character. Good luck doing that in a melee. Maybe there's a way to select your character with a keybind and I don't know it? R <space>? That would make things a lot easier.

New character seems OK, fairly mediocre.

The thing I am most sad about is the philosopher's stone nerf.

Twitch is stupid ridiculously overpowered now. His ultimate makes him the new corki. Expect to see him in every single game.

I agree with Bhodi, somewhat, the problem is you can't currently make all of Kayle's abilities even passible late game.  Either the flaming sword or the nuke are completely worthless I always just build for the nuke/heal now and ignore the flaming sword except for slightly less sad creep killing.

The new character's slow is stupid, when does that get nerfed exactly?  Otherwise he seems ok but not too imba, too early to tell though.

Fuck I love Blitzcrank.  I need to figure out though how to build him, don't know if I should go for Attack Damage or Ability Power.

The new characters slow is OP and his Ultimate isn't terribly useful until the late game. His Q ability would be great if 1: It was more than 1 damage (even 2 would make it useful) and 2: The tooltip actually f'ing updated when you used it. Of course, now we have to wait a week for fixes, which in a game that is all about balance is a goddamn eternity.

Also, he's uuuuugggggggly.

Riot seems to be in heavy crunch mode. I'm sure they will get things back on track after launch. I've got my digital edition ordered from Riot and I'm waiting until then.

Also October belongs to Borderlands anyway. I think I'm going to end up with like 4-5 copies of it by the time all is said and done...

He's still my main champ and honestly, I still don't use his ulti at all. It's only useful if you're standing toe to toe with a melee or standing behind a tower and wanting to pepper people trying to take down your tower. I still prefer just popping out of stealth, dropping a few arrows into people, and then expunge to finish.

It becomes overpowered in mid to late game melee scuffles. The damn thing does 100% damage to everyone in a line and you can hit 3 or 4 heroes with it while being too far away to be in any danger yourself.

I just tried him in a practice game.

The only reason I hadn't noticed him being so retarded is because Kassadin and Teemo are probably the two best counters for his skank ass in the game (blind or mute), so he never effected me. Having just tried him - lolbroken. I will not be playing Sion. At level 1 with a full AP book he was one hitting full creep waves.

Even with that change, sion will be well worth playing. In fact, if that hotfix was accurate, I was already playing him with the bugfix.

Also, kassadin does not cancel the shield except through damage. I ate a kassadin alive last night.

Null Sphere - Kassadin fires an ethereal bolt of void energy, dealing damage and silencing the target for the duration.
Kassadin fires a void bolt dealing 80 / 130 / 180 / 230 / 280 (+1 per ability power) magic damage and silencing the target for 1 / 1 / 2 / 2 / 3 seconds.
Cooldown
    9 seconds
Cost
    70 / 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 Mana
Range
    700

Level 1, 3, and 4 I put into Null sphere. So base 180 damage. Ignite is always on cooldown (I tend to waste it on mobs if no one is within range, so +10. Blasting Rod generally by level 3, worst case 4. Tome at level 1.

180+10+26+20+40: So 276 base, though I generally have boots ~4 also, so unless I'm getting eaten alive: 301.

Edit: Teemo's blinding dart has base 190, so same thing there.

Edit: Also, I get a decent bump from my runebooks (maxed out everything that uses AP, so I start the game at 63 base AP with Ignite on cooldown).

Ya, I'm starting to feel that a max AP runebook might be more beneficial than a max cooldown runebook.

Yep, I play a good sion. Best char so far I think. I was playing him after that hotfix last night, I never got a chance to see "broken" sion I guess.

My AP book is half @level18 and half base. If I wasn't so lazy I'd switch it to all @level18 since I don't start ganking or harassing seriously until level 7 or so.

I keep explaining that the break even point is level 7, and for SOME characters, you farm until that level anyway.

No, I think you get it, you just don't want to believe.

Count how many kills you get before, say, level 5. And don't count games against scrubs. Now, count how many kills you get level 6 and above. Notice that the fighting/farming ratio is skewed to farming early game and fighting late game. Thus, you want runes that help you fight better late game and you want ones that get increasingly better as you level.

Early game doesn't mean shit in real matchups, it only means anything if you're able to get a few levels worth of lead on players who suck anyway. The ONLY runes that conceivably are worth taking early game (for tanks at least) are HP runes, and there is no scaling option for them. In real matchups, it's rare to see deaths before level 6 where the carries get their gank ultimates.

Hell, kassadin is a perfect example, he doesn't get his blink until level 6. You've said you don't go for ganks until you get it, so fill your book with @18 so that by time you start ganking, you're already almost as strong with a scaling book as you would be with a flat book.

Hell, a lot of games you're stuck at level 18 for half the game. +75 AP sure comes in handy late game when you've got zhonya's ring and all those AP multipliers!

There are different scales though, some runes the /18 doesn't break even until L10 some L4.  The level six ones are a toss up imo, depends on what stat and if the bonus means dick compared to what you get from a 400g item.

I don't buy Zhonya's ring much anymore. I generally go for Frozen Heart or Armor & that goddamn staff I can never remember the name of. The one that makes 2% of your health attack power. Fairly useful when you have just under 4,000 health. 350-400 AP and 200-250 Attack is a pretty useful character considering we have issues taking down towers.
