No rush, but you can also replace your Stam gems with the STR+STAM gems.  Purple gems still should count as blues for the meta.

Yeah, by "kept blues" I mean "replaced them with off-color gems that maintain the socket bonus". I don't think stam + str gems exist though. I went with some stam + attack power ones.

Yeah, hybrid gems count for both of their base colors for socket bonuses and meta gem activation, so Purple (red and blue) etc. for green and orange.

Also, the special prismatic gems that give +all stats, count as all 3 colors, Enchanted Pearl (+4) , Enchanted Tear (+6) , Nightmare Tear (+10) but you can only have one in your entire set of gear at any given time.

They do, they are purple with the Sovereign prefix so Sovereign Shadow Crystal, Sovereign Twilight Opal, Sovereign Dreadstone.

Paladin New main character, just hit 80 less than 2 weeks ago.
Priest Former main, put to pasture because 6+ raiding priests in guild is a bit overkill.
Druid  Mostly just a herbing and flask making machine, don't play him much.
Hunter Skinning and Mining gatherer, will probably hit 80 soon, fun in pvp.

Warrior My main for a short bit at WoTLK launch, caught up with some old TBC friends before predictable guild implosion and most of them transfered.
Mage Alt on the warrior's server.

I always play a mage for at least a short while in every expansion due to Nostalgia since this guy was my main for all of classic WoW, but I haven't touched him since.

My only defense/excuse for having this many 80's is I pretty much despise achievements and thus keep myself busy with extreme altitis and pvp.

Edit: Also, I can usually tell when it's time for a new expansion when I'm close to having a max level character in every class.

My Warrior, who I intentionally gave a really boring real-life name.

I need to gem out of defense/expertise since I was actually pretty close to going under cap several upgrades ago.

And no, I cannot fucking get rid of the naxx10 shield. Shields, they evade me. 23 Auriya kills in 10-man and NO DROP. Just as many Hodir-25 kills and ONE drop which I lost. One drop from Anub-10 which I lost. No drops from Beasts-25. I cannot get a fucking shield.

My guild's GM and MT has the same affliction; he's praying for the shield of Anub currently.

I need to get rid of my +defense trinket somehow, so I can put another stamina trinket on (I have the Black Heart and the other brewfest trinket lying around, waiting for the math to finally settle on one of those theorycrafting-wise.) The easiest thing will be to pick up some pants that actually have +def on them, but I lost the roll on T8.10 pants last night again, and the ones I'm using have a lot to recommend them over any of the alternatives I have banked.

Teldrassil Protector and Titanweave would get you most of the way, for not much loss.

Clutch of Fortification might be another option.

None are ideal though, it's a pretty iffy juggling act to get them in.

Fair enough; I wasn't really aware of it's benefits for Arcane mages. In all other regards it screams healer trinket to me. I'll maintain that any other caster spec would have to be a little crazy to take it.

Fucking weapons don't drop for our raid.  I've been running Ulduar since week one and I've seen only 4 2h weapons drop, they all went to Pugs with the old guild or People who no longer play with the current one.  Goddamn assholes.  Relearning Unholy spec for the 4th time in a year is also less than fun. Damn you, Blizzard.

The Priest  It doesn't get much play so the gear is shit.  I hate healing but I hate shadow spec even more.   It's the only other 80 I've got and I'm not entirely sure why I leveled it instead of one of the other 3 70s I had, a Hunter a Lock and a Pally.

 They're going to languish at 70 for a good while because Northrend was fun the first time, but only tolerable the 2nd and I'm just not interested in doing it again, even on Horde side. Which is sad because I enjoyed playing all 3 in BC.

You could go for the cloak of Ignis; that would be the most available upgrade I think.

Holy builds are a piece of shit to get right, my feelings with holy is that you never need more than 1/2 Surge of Light, and Blessed Resilience offers you more throughput than empowered healing. With a renew-centric build like yours I would personally take BR over EH, although I would debate the merits of the Renew Glyph over the GS glyph. GS with a 1min cooldown is amazing in 10s, where you are often lacking cooldowns.

Yup I do miss the GS glyph, I'm probably going to swap out CoH for it though as healing 6 people instead of 5 in a 10 man raid isn't all that significant usually.

The renew build is kind of a test but has been working out pretty well, bearing in mind that 90% of the time I'm dual healing with a holy pally.  My previous spec hardly used renew at all but with every available talent dumped into it as well as the glyph it does start to tick for a significant amount.  But really it's almost impossible to tell which one performs best, unless I do something silly like using healing meters as a measurement.
