Everyone link their armories so we can drool at how awesome you are, or more likely tell you how you're an idiot.

Naturally I'll go first: My paladin.

Gear is standard battlegrounder stuff, gems are blue quality, enchants are from a "nice ones to get if you're not made of money" list Azaroth posted here months ago, except for the weapon enchant I shelled out for. Oh and the shoulder enchant, because I'd rather just use the Wintergrasp one than grind Sons of Hodir rep.

Spec is, I think, pretty cookie cutter for the most part. I think the recent number-cruncher talk is that Seal of Command is ghey and Improved Hammer of Justice overrated, but I could be wrong and that's arena noise anyway. As far as battlegrounds go, hitting multiple people/pets with SoC's new multi-hit effect happens all the time, and I wouldn't trade Imp HoJ for the world.

My holy spec is just the same 20 points in prot from my ret spec, with the holy tree stuff mostly copied from something I found on a blog. It could probably use tweaking, but in practice it's more of an excuse to collect holy gear than anything else. I rarely ever actually use that spec. My holy gear is the blue crafted 78 stuff, slowly being upgraded with Wintergrasp purples. I'm sure my holy glyphs aren't what they ought to be, and my holy gear enchants would probably seem pretty random if you saw them, but I don't care.

My statistics page is a total mess and I'm pretty sure completely WTF WRONG in many places, not that anyone would care.

I think I'm more or less in order, but here are my questions to the peanut gallery:

* Should I be gemming differently? Maybe some of those off-color gems that give some stam+whatever instead of pure stam gems?

* How are my ret glyphs?

* Anything blatantly wrong that I'm not aware of?

Bear in mind that battlegrounds and Wintergrasp are what I do, and I don't give a damn for PVE. Also, I showed you mine, now show me yours.  this guy looks legit

My DK I used to raid with.

WUA, do you really need the Seal of Command glyph?  I don't really notice mana problems on my pally.  Exorcism seems like a more "useful" glyph in the search for exploding people.  And on your geming.  I thought the general rule of thumb was to ignore most socket bonuses for +str gem and only take what you have to to activate the meta.

Matching socket boni isn't always worth it, and I'm doubtful of the value of stam gems for a DPS class doing nothing but BGs and WG. I'd probably regem for straight strength and crit everywhere tbh. Also, you probably have a lot of spare honour, and epic gems can be bought for 10K honour a pop, might be worth upgrading to some of those as you get new pieces.

Everything else looks pretty sane though. Have you considered trying prot/holy as your offspec? It is rumoured to be the OP spec of the month, and you'd probably find it more to your style that straight holy.

Warlock.  I tend to finish the day in my PVP set.  My PVE spec/gear is based on the fact that I don't think I'll ever raid again (can probably redistribute the improved soul leech then). Will regem when I feel this set is complete as my early gem choices were mainly to make me less of a free kill.

Shaman. Crushes greens and lately has been doing some direbrew healing.  Logged out in my incomplete and so-so gemmed resto set. I raided with this character a long time ago.

DK. Isn't played much outside of gems and the odd Wintergrasp.

Heh, every character has a lame ass titansteel weapon.  Put someone honor weapons up already, asshole Blizz.

I need to gem out of defense/expertise since I was actually pretty close to going under cap several upgrades ago.

And no, I cannot fucking get rid of the naxx10 shield. Shields, they evade me. 23 Auriya kills in 10-man and NO DROP. Just as many Hodir-25 kills and ONE drop which I lost. One drop from Anub-10 which I lost. No drops from Beasts-25. I cannot get a fucking shield.

Lazy c&p from the sticky thread. I typically use a fair bit of pvp gear for pve [and gem it as such] because I'm too cheap to enchant+gem 3-4 sets of gear at the same time [not to mention the alternative would be using some level80 blue]

Alliance side for srs bsns (ie heroics, some BGing, and pug raids once in a blue moon):
Ranagol - main, priest. My shadow 'gear' is mostly the same as healing stuff, so yeah. I also cbf getting proper glyphs for shadow.
Zaphiir - dk who's been getting more airtime recently and still hasn't respecced out of blood for that little 5-man tanking I do occasionally
Solarion - retired shaman that occasionally crafts gems

Horde side for screwing around:
Zaphir - DEFINITELY NOT A DIRTY ALLIANCE SPY. Crappy gear, but at least I did 2.3k dps right after hitting 80. Buff Blood Fury!  awesome, for real

I mean, come ON. He was badly geared back when I was playing him. The only toon I have geared worse is a feral druid sitting around geared in a bunch of spirit/int stuff because I geared her back when feral was pointless, and I keep putting off regearing her.

Haven't played a hunter past 26 and that was all pre-TBC.  Plus, you're leveling.  It's pointless to make fun of someone's spec that's still leveling.  Now if you show up in a 80 heroic with strength gems, SP gear, and a 71/0/0 spec, then we can talk.

Mocking gear is extra silly to direct at someone still leveling!

These are more or less in order of me caring about them, although the tie breaker was "how recently they hit 80." So my warrior came in last. I KNOW she sucks, she's not even at 540 defense yet. :(

My DK.
My druid.
My hunter.

EDIT: I looked at Morat's spec to make him feel more loved, then realised I have always ignored the fuck out of beast spec and have no idea what is good or bad for them. So um. You probably could drop hawkeye pretty safely. Other than that, I dunno.  awesome, for real

Eh the spec is fine for leveling. Beast falls behind in the srs business raiding stuff right now but it maybe the best leveling spec in the game. Also you were smart enough to not spec spirit bond so you're not really giving us anything to work with here.  tongue

* Should I be gemming differently? Maybe some of those off-color gems that give some stam+whatever instead of pure stam gems?

* How are my ret glyphs?

* Anything blatantly wrong that I'm not aware of?

So, gem-wise, the main thing is you are matching socket colors to get stuff like +4 crit rating. Typically from a pure damage perspective it would be better to just throw more +16 strength gems in those slots. For PVP I'm not quite as sure about that; my warrior has a lot of resil/stam gems in his pvp suit for the yellow and blue slots. You might also consider hit gems in the yellows, since you're not at the pvp hit cap of 5%.

Talent-wise divine sacrifice/guardian seems a little odd in a BG hero type build, seems more of a PVE raid saver or an arena trick to me - I would consider moving those 3 points over to the holy deep wounds thing at the top of the ret tree or something.

Glyph-wise, SoC isn't a great glyph. I'm not 100% sure what the best choice to run instead for pvp is though. Hand of salv glyph would give you another defensive cooldown, that might be nice?

My Warrior, who I intentionally gave a really boring real-life name.

I need to gem out of defense/expertise since I was actually pretty close to going under cap several upgrades ago.

That is some bad shield luck. I have 2 of those Auriaya ones, I put titanium plating on one for pvp.  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly? I wouldn't gem out of any expertise, you're at 26 which is exactly on the dodge cap.

How are you liking the shield wall glyph/talent? I'm not using it right now personally because there's really not much call for it outside of hard modes on the stuff we're doing (and we aren't doing hard modes) and I am having a hard time finding talent points I'd want to use on that. I see you skipped Armored to the Teeth to get it - that's a pretty big threat hit, does it seem worth it?

=========

Also: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Doomhammer&n=Thorgrim

I need to get rid of my +defense trinket somehow, so I can put another stamina trinket on (I have the Black Heart and the other brewfest trinket lying around, waiting for the math to finally settle on one of those theorycrafting-wise.) The easiest thing will be to pick up some pants that actually have +def on them, but I lost the roll on T8.10 pants last night again, and the ones I'm using have a lot to recommend them over any of the alternatives I have banked.

My next badge buy is the conquest belt I think, the badge pants don't strike me as very good and I don't want to have to wear T8 gloves to get to the 4 piece (eventually). I'm not getting enough triumph badges to worry about that stuff since we're not running ToC and I have been lazy about the dungeon daily. My first buy will probably be the thrown weapon or the ring on those.

Well, I can't promise not showing up 71/0/0......but even I know what Hunter gear should look like, even if I'm still a bit iffy on the resliance, crit, to hit and all those other changes. I quit right before they added resiliance.....but agility, to-hit, and crit should be pretty high. Stamina's nice for dealing with AoE, but Hunters wear mail and simply can't survive an elite meleeing them for long. If I'm being attacked directly, I'm doing something wrong....

Even then, I think I have like one more talent point I want in BM, and then the rest probably in marksman. I'm still debating on whether to drop the survival talent that extends range to go a bit deeper in Marksman.....

I dunno. I could probably have a slightly more efficient BM spec, but I like evil kitties of DPS doom.

Also, having just got this a few days ago, I LOVE SNAKE TRAP. IT IS THE BEST TRAP EVER.

Skipping armored to the teeth hasn't really hurt me yet, and for the two classes that can catch me on threat (well equipped druids and warlocks), I doubt it'd save me. It hurts not having your shield wall completely trivialize the damage some bosses do, but having a CD up every two minutes between last stand and shield wall is fucking awesome. I always bust last stand with my trinkets and enraged regeneration; it's almost as good as a flat out damage reduction. It also lets you cheese some fights like general vezax since between a priest with pain suppression you can just eat his soft-enrages forever.

Also, all of the T9 gear has fucking ridiculous amounts of expertise on it. When I get a couple more upgrades I want I'll be able to totally dump all expertise gems and still be way the fuck over 26 skill.

Well, its not terrible to be sitting high on expertise - points past 26 are still as good as hit, mostly, and it gives some minor reduction to incoming damage by reducing parry haste on the boss. (And I'm totally not saying that just because I'm at 37 expertise, ungemmed...)

Yeah.  Most tanks ignore them completely and put Stam gems in every socket.  I'm 75% there, if the bonus is Stam I make some effort to put a matching something+Stam gem in there.  But I have Jewelcrafting+BlackSmithing, so I have a bit of leeway.
