Triforcer has a point. (  ) When Steam was released everyone here was shitting all over it like it was the bubonic plague and predicted it wouldn't get anywhere as a digital distribution method. For certain creative values of "everyone", maybe. I searched around for early Steam threads and this is the first one I could find that was largely dedicated to slapfights over the future of Steam. The "OMG VALVE JUST WANTS UR MONEYZ" doomcasting is limited to one or two people. |

Any dislike I have for steam is eclipsed by the hatred I have for the gaming retailers. And that's even before I consider they demand ridiculous markups in Australia.
Knowing I'll probably never buy a game from EB again puts a smile on my face each time I walk by.
