I'm looking for a game that someone brought to my attention about a year ago, and it very well could have been on F13. At any rate, it's the same concept as any of the Tron lightcycles but in a cube rather than on a single plane.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Negative. The one I'm talking about would allow you to make turns in both the up and down directions in addition to the left and right.

Also, if anyone has any recommendations for freeware/abandonware/indie games I can download, that would be great. I'm bored of out my effing mind here. No more patrols means no more job means I'm going crazy.

I'm in Baghdad, actually. Remember the big pull out of the cities hooplah? Well, it happened a month ago. Mostly. Except, fuck, I'm still here.

We can't patrol at all, and can only leave our little base to resupply ourselves in a 3 hour window in the middle of the night.

GOG.com, you say? Browsing, time now.

Dwarf Fortress will keep you busy.  Not always in a good way.

I'd tried Dwarf Fortress before and couldn't get past the ASCII interface and unintuitive controls. I found a graphical tileset, and that makes it a lot easier on the eyes. The controls are still hard for me, but I saved a tutorial off some site and it got me at least to building a trading post.

It passes time in a ridiculous way. I'll start playing, and wham! An hour has passed.

Closest thing I could find to the 3D lightcycles you described was this:

Edit: Counterclockwise may also fit the bill

I was drinking when I wrote this, so sue me if it goes astray.

Counterclockwise is most definitely it. Thanks!
