In what can only be a joke on CCP's part, the very first match of the tournament is -A- against IAC.  Also interesting is that xXdeathXx, Atlas, IRC and Sc0rched Earth are on standby but not actually in the tournament.

Sweet, they have video of all the match-ups. I thought they would only do that for the finals, or maybe they were talking about the live streams... Anyway should be fun to watch at work tomorrow awesome, for real

There was supposedly a lot of meta-game in the Goons/Razor fight.  Razor reportedly stole our set-ups from our forums and Bob from Marketing used that to troll them into bringing a set-up that we could easily counter.  For example, the Goon Ravens were using torpedoes, which you wouldn't normally see in the tournament.

That's why it was interesting that scimitar lasted forever, came back from the death. Some of the primary calling I have seen so far has been pure facepalm.

Apparently Kenny is ranked no 1 after the first round because they barely won their match against some alliance you've never heard of. Its set up so that if you barely scrape past your round you get loads of points, but if you achieve a flawless victory (such as, from what I hear, -A- vs IAC) you score low points...

Which, quite frankly, is fucking stupid. Who thought this scoring system up?

The Swiss.

And wouldn't V3 be ahead then, since they won by a single point?

I thought that Kenny scraped it because they committed a shitload of movement violations before the start?  Seems odd to reward that.  Still, who cares?

Kenny are ahead because they beat the highest ranking loser. It starts to make more sense once there are several rounds to get the teams properly ranked rather than the somewhat random assignations at the start.

Due to some score shuffling, Goonswarm is now fighting Red.Overlord on Saturday.  Interesting times.

This effect worried me too. In a full Swiss tournament,  I think it doesn't really matter. In a partial Swiss, partial single elimination format, I think maybe it's a bit fubar. Perhaps a different system for round 1, and then subsequent rounds use this ranking.

Maybe SirLordex will be so excited that he'll forget to pay the DDOS bill.

I take it everyone assumes it's him, anyway?

Did anyone catch the AT stream today? Highlights were TQ going down in the middle of the day, EVE TV going up for the final match that saw Kenny get roflstomped, and Important Intenet Spaceship League sporting an instantly famous Tengu pilot.

Saw a Battle Badger not die when primaried for an entire fight. Wasn't dissapointed. Saw Kenny just throw away their chance to fight Haargoth Agamar. Was dissapointed.

Good matches in the semi-finals all around though. Also the interview with BobFromMarketing was interesting.

Missed the interview, but the EVE Radio channel blew up when Haargoth took the field, and the hateswarm was out in full effect during the RO/GS match up.

It was a good thing they decided to test the EVE TV stream starting from that match, since it was quite hilarious to watch.

Official Round 3 line-up announced!

Quote from: CCP Claw
There was a little bit of a mess up in this match. Somehow the Iron Claw managed to give this game a 17 minute time limit instead of 15.

Banzai Boys previously lost this game to Solar Fleet 125-92, however taking a look at our video referee clearly shows the mistake. At 15 minutes the Banzai Boys' Drake was still alive, along with the Ishkur of SOLAR FLEET.

So, the result of this match will be updated to Banzai Boys 88, Solar Fleet 87, giving Banzai Boys 110 points for the win.

Both teams will still go through to the final weekend, this change will just alter the rankings slihgtly, which will be published today.

Apologies to both teams for the messup - if you want to petition to reimburse the two ships for this, please do so, and include my name as a reference. I'll be mailing this to your team captains also.

We start off Saturday with another fight against rich alliances, this time both of them known for losing highly valuable ships. All fights will be elimination rounds. Thing's should be interesting today. And we can watch it live!

Why are they warp scrambling? I was under the impression warping around wasn't allowed.

Yes, there is actually an invisible warp bubble in the arena, mainly for not players warping off and getting disqualified when they crash. At least in a bubble you have the chance to get back in.

Fun matches today. I don't get why people field set-ups without logistic ships, they got mopped up pretty fast during the preliminaries yet I saw another one going down today...

Another ROL fight up now, since I post this they'll go down in a ball of fire but I like what they've fielded and done so far. Go space aluminium people!

edit: unless I'm mistaken, out of the four people on this EVE-TV show so far three of them are goons, how things change.
