Hopefully a turn towards more traditional pets/animals is acceptable:

How is the animal section of Marine World these days?  I haven't been back there in a long time, but the rides and amusement stuff seem to have taken over everything since 6 Flags bought it.

I hadn't been there since grade school, but it was about as good as I remembered it.  We saw shows involving trained elephants, tigers, whales, dolphins, and parrots.  And a bunch more animals just chilling out (cougars, sloths, bats, giraffes, walruses, sea lions...)

Also, these squirrels, which did awesome ninja backflips off the sides of their enclosures for no reason at all.

I'm shocked, shocked I tell you, that Lantyssa didn't post these already:

These two red panda cubs where abandoned by their mother in a zoo in China and are being nursed by this dog.

Still not as cute as great pandas, though

Just in case someone's not tired of puppies, here's a pile of baby bulldogs:

Edit: And I think this is the sequel, where they all try to eat each other but fail because they have no teeth:

This is from a news story awhile back.  The little orange ball of fur at the bottom of the photo is a cat named Jack, who has managed to terrorize a local bear enough to send the bear scurrying to the top of the tree.  Go Jack!

Why do people keep trying to make other animals look like pandas? Only pandas can be pandas.

I should get back to nature, too.  You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer.  Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached.  Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

We're birdsitting this one for the weekend.  He likes to careen drunkenly around the room and land on your head.  Good times.

He's also fascinated by my iPod for some reason.
