Yes  awesome, for real

They really think "Star Wars Fans" will sit through voice-overs?
Maybe they have the cure for A.D.D. as well...   why so serious?

Why not? If they stay the course with this title, it'll have more resemblance to KOTOR than any of the EQ1 descendants. So while we suffered through voiceovers in EQ2 beta until we could turn them off, SWTOR may just play differently enough where the voice isn't in the way as much as it supports.

But having watched the sizzler, I'm forced to ask again: wtf? no real PvP? Whole damned video was PvP.

I generally play with the sound off, so unless they have a written version of the quest I'll not be playing and if they have a written version then WTF do you need voice for?

Just saw the Project Offset Meteor trailer. Is Project Offset still going to be a game ever? Or did they become just an engine developer since getting acquired by Intel?

Looks awesome, I just want to know if it's teh pretty, or if there'll ever be a game in there.

So we've now got three "avatarish" movies coming out this year.

Gamer, Surrogates, and Avatar.  Why the sudden influx in movies based on this tech??  kinda waters the genre down.  James Cameron talks too damned much btw.  And there BETTER be a damned HoMM Kingdoms update.

Found the SWTOR trailer.  I'd like to see a full movie by them.

That's stuff that science fiction hasn't even written about.

That was worse than the last 5 Sony Press Conferences.

Dude, you missed the 3/4's of the Conference where they actually showed games.  You aren't really in a place to judge, especially since you said you're avoiding footage of Alan Wake.

Alan Wake looked like it could be interesting, although it came off as a bit of a Silent Hill wannabe.

Beyond that I imagine your excitement is proportional to how many sequels to shooters you're interested in. For someone like me who is not into that genre at all it was pretty bare.

The fact that it was Molyneux giving the presentation and that his proof that it was real was that it would be shown only behind closed doors to pre-screened journalists should tell you something about how soon that's going to be a reality.

Word on the street (i.e.- first result in a google search) is that we get the next Zelda announced tomorrow.  It better give me a revolutionary RE4 style vibe, because the old formula be tired.

Maybe it'll introduce next gen graphics to the wii by using bloom and a color palette consisting of twenty-six shades of brown.

I'd be perfectly happy with a Zelda using pretty much the same formula.  Fuck, they've kept very much the same formula since their very first game.  A mediocre Zelda is better than 95% of the crap out there, IMO.

I read way faster that people speak AND I can't usually make it all the way through a wall-o-quest-text as it is.  Generally I skim for key words and context and then hit accept.

There is no way I will listen to 90% of what they voice.
Will you then bitch about the lack of content?

I would love a fully voiced mmo. You can always skip it if you're in a rush to raid  Ohhhhh, I see.

Abo-so-lootly. It added a lot to EQ2 and AOC. It was best done in EQ2 IMO, hell even wizard 101 has full voice overs. I am getting tired of reading text, the option of it being acted is much more appealing to me, as long as the acting is well, good.

I would say that voice acting is soon to be a must, one of those baseline "expectations" for new MMOs. If you disagree, MUDS have been long dead i hate to inform you (You didn't read those anyway Mr.Play by script).  why so serious?

Something was...off about Twilight Princess.  Or maybe it was just me getting older.  But it didn't have the magic of LTTP, OOT, MM, or WW, all of which I loved and still play.

If you think Wall-O-Text is the same thing as content you have serious issues.

Yeah, I'll give you that...the whole shadow world thing made it different.  It's not in the top 5.  Still, the gameplay elements were pretty solid and fun.

I mentioned in some other thread that I'm currently playing OOT.  That game has aged shockingly well.  Takes you an hour to get used to the crusty graphics, but after that it holds up very well.

Left 4 Dead 2 just got announced for a Nov. 17th release on PC/360.  FFXIII is set for Spring 2010 in the U.S..

Never have I seen a worse community than the one in L4D, but i suppose its only natural when finding a decent pickup is so hard  it becomes more fun to grief than actually play the game.

Unless L4D 2 = military operations in teams of 8, I'll give it a miss.

edit - Ok, chainsaws and frying pans have changed me from no to maybe :)  might wait for it to go on sale though.
