I hope they show the Fisher-Price abomination that they've turned the Madden 10 for the Wii into. It will truly make you plotz.

E3, one step back for men

five steps back for feminism

Edit: Holy crap, I think dyan knows this is utterly ridiculous. I'm proud of her.

is there anything remotely interesting so far outside of the L4D-2 trailer that will likely draw tons of fire for Katrina parallels?

I was watching the ea presentation at www.ea.com/e3 but the stream is getting hammered by traffic and it's stuttering too badly.

Anywhere else to watch it?  That doesn't require IE7?

Seriously. He is smoking some serious shit. Either that or it's the Microsoft pole he's been smoking lately. Just come out with an updated Movies machinima engine that doesn't suck and all will be forgiven.

Saboteur looked freaking awesome.  Dragon Age.  Dante's Inferno looked neatish as well.

WTF is up with essentially starting off the presentation with girl stuffs?  I get that you want to appeal to a casual audience.  I'm thinking the 40,000 people at E3 aren't casual.

What game is a fully-voiced MMO? Didn't we learn not to do that with EQ2 and AOC?

Your beloved SWTOR will be the world's first fully voiced MMO... as in fully fully.
It could be cool if (like I said) they dont have quest-text and force people to listen and/or replay confrontations via some kind of video recorder; otherwise exercise their powers of memorization.  LoL

I just look at it as a new way to slow down char. progression and grind the game out w/o totally boring people.  Although, something tells me people will still get bored.  All will depend on the writers (which we all know they have plenty of).

AoC? If there was one thing people were bitching about a lot it was the voice acting going away after 20.

That said I don't think Bioware understands the can of worms they are opening because if they've ever listened to a vent/team speak session Shakespeare theatre is barely possible and for 99% of the time means your epic sotrylines will get compromised. Anyone has suggestions of an Eve Fleet engagement/spy ousting to help highlight this point?

The hardware for Natal seems like definite improvement over the Wii in certain ways but I don't like how the software is lacking. Considering that MS said all possible developers will get access to natal starting today I think we won't see any decent software until mid 2011 at the earliest. If that is true why bother making Natal for the 360 now and just hold out for another year (and a half) and release it with a brand new console.

OP is assuming its somewhat of a design-goal of eve to make players happy.
this is however not the case.

As long as there's good voice acting, sure yeah, it helps with the immersion. This is also assuming the game in general behaves more like a typical rpg. I don't have time to explain it..should be obvious though. I mean, it makes no difference to me if it's just an mmo wall of quest text. I don't care for that to be in audio. Other games have tried it. Fail.

I read way faster that people speak AND I can't usually make it all the way through a wall-o-quest-text as it is.  Generally I skim for key words and context and then hit accept.

There is no way I will listen to 90% of what they voice.
