I liked the last comment, which is appropriate for almost any form of violence, essentially - "oh aye that - get dozens of those wounds in Casualty every Saturday night in Glasgow". It's true.

You've never heard of OMD, but surely you've heard of "If you Leave," right?

Start here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sq2vl99iIEcAll went downhill after the first single, although they remained decent for a few years. Even after they lost the plot they kept having hits though. More interestingly, here's OMD's producer on their first couple of albums (including their breakout single Enola Gay) back playing bass with Gong, and also featuring Simple Minds' producer Steve Hillage on guitar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kqyo9YU2FzIOh yeah, I'm going to see them in a couple of weeks. Brains will melt.

OMD is on the very short list of New Wave bands I managed to keep missing. Would love to see them. Also, as much as I love Electricity (and I do, and the Apoptygma Berzerk cover (here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KL5HelZvKzg ), I still think they peaked with If You Leave. And it's almost guaranteed that he's at least heard If You Leave, if he hasn't, I think he might live on the moon.

"A rival fan is stabbed at nearly every Roma game but it only hits the headlines when foreign fans are attacked at a game like the Champions League final." This is bullshit, though. And I am not defending anyone here, just stating that "nearly every Roma game" is bullshit. Not to mention that we have two teams here, Roma being the youngest and Lazio being the older. They both have violent groups, but Lazio are the worst. Finally, about the word: "puncicata" is the singular, "puncicate" is plural. As in "la puncicata" or "le puncicate". The word is a close cousin of "pugnalata" which literally means "a stab". The verb vould be "puncicare" (to stab in the ass). Io puncico (I) tu puncichi (you) egli puncica (he/she/it) noi puncichiamo (we) voi puncicate (you) loro puncicano (they) Just in case anyone wanted to somehow use it in English. It drives me mad when I am abroad and people say "I want one panini". Fuck, panini is plural. Singular is panino. Oh, what a bunch of uselss crap I just typed.

It'll almost certainly be from the same latin root as we get pungent (pungere, to prick, thus pricking the tongue), poignant etc. Since we're doing etymologies.

No, that shit about the sandwich is pretty cool. Now I can order a "panino" sandwich rather than a panini and look like I know Italian. Win.

Why don't you hold some referendums or even censuses to come up with a single piece of data about it? This is English, and it's coming for your useful words. Panini is our word, now, and there is nothing you can do. Just ask the French.

Why don't you just, you know, leave? I know plenty of people who did it. It's easy. Trains, planes and automobiles! Go to Finland because people there aren't weird, right? Personally, if I had to choose between living in Italy and Finland, Italy would win easily. Luckily, I'll never have to choose that!

I have to wait at least 6 years more. I can't do it until my son is at least about 20. He doesn't want to move and I really don't feel like changing his life. In 2015 I am pretty sure I will move to Canada. What do you suggest? Toronto or Vancouver?
