Hehe, I just wanted to know if anyone plays on seradon. Thanks for the PMs for those who don't want to risk exposure. I understand now that admitting to playing Vanguard is like having a scarlet letter on your chest. Its a good game if you have a permanent partner.

I don't mind the game so much, but investing time in a game puttering along on station-pass life support doesn't seem terribly worthwhile. But heck, it's your dime and time.

I'm glad I'm not a masochist and enjoy WoW like normal people.

WoW is lowered expectations polished to a high shine. I'd rather be stabbed in the nuts with a shrimp fork than play that OR Vanguard.

I liked the classes in Vanguard, but hated the world that they were thrust into (not to mention the grind).  Has it improved?

Saying "one would rather" doesn't mean one actually does that thing.

Of course you knew that, but being a WoWtard, you had to go for the obtuse response.

Like I said, wilfully obtuse.

Your namesake would be disappointed.

Nah, he would've stabbed you. You're the one treading on his rep, not me.

I love the jagoff's who think games like Vanguard are so much more cerebral.  LOL.  Give me a break.  "Wowtard?"  Right.  You're playing chess, and the people playing WoW over there are playing checkers.   awesome, for real

I just want to say I don't think any one MMO out there is more cerebral than any other. It all comes down to what type of mechanics you enjoy the most.

The mechanics you like, people to game co-operatively with when you want to and a belief the game will continue to provide new experiences and challenges. I don't really see how vanguard can compete on 2 and 3. And other than a couple of well done classes (bloodmage, disciple... damage into heals is just fun) I don't even see the mechanics advances.

So wicanna is the server to be on?

I was on Wiccana though my main was on Aquilonia. Have to say the population on Aquilonia was good, the players friendly (give or take the obligatory asshat) and I found more of a game on Aquilonia for those reasons.

I did however leave AoC for Eve as I grew very quickly tired of the sieges and raids, so I'm looking to join an Eve corp - as you well know...  Rimshot

Have you considered some of the better f2p games?

Decently done fantasy diku:
Runes of Magic
Perfect World
Atlantica (turn based combat)

I've tried all 3 and they all do the quest grind just fine.

Free Realms is really different, and really fun.

Having recently resubbed to the station pass, I gave Vanguard a try again, and they have made some nice improvements.  Like putting the graphics for helms in.  why so serious?
That said, I'm having fun for the moment.  Though, since I'm soloing away in a totally not solo friendly game, I've no idea how long that'll last.

And with regards to the station pass life support comment.  Yeah, may be true, but how long has Planetside, EQ, et all been doing the same, and seemingly doing fairly well in that niche?

Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin to slit throats.
