So... I have a PS3, in fact I spent extra time and money getting a used 60gb or 80 or whatever the launch version was that wasn't 20gb that has hardware compatibility. I have never gotten any real use out of it. I own Assassin's Creed (got old fast) various ps2 rpg's I play to about 80% complete and get bored of and my best purchase for the stupid machine, Iron Man on BR. Which does look amazing so totally worthwhile purchase as long as it never breaks on me. However, I bought SFIV, because I had been having fun scrubbing it up in GuiltyGear w/ the little bro and I figured here's something I can make myself good at. Long story short I no longer have any controllers for my ps3, ragequit 4tL, man I hate fighting games. Before that happened I had really wanted to use my ps3 controller in Rumble Fighter on my PC. Apparently though there is no driver for Vista64. What. The. Fuck. How have the smart people that usually fix this kind of shit for people like me not done so? Why can Vista auto detect it but it does nothing just to toy with me? Why doesn't Sony sell a driver for $10? Fuck this is catastrophically stupid. So anyways, I need to buy two controllers & probably a goddamn fighting stick but lets save that for another time when I'm not really angry with fighting games. What controllers should I buy? Need: 2 controllers 1 must be usable on Vista64 can be on the smaller side, I dont have big hands or chubby fingers this is too smallwireless is better but I'll trade it for a better design, I'm rarely that far from the system I definitely don't need any of that turbo button bullshit in the middle HALP TIA and all that.

Stole my thought, Yego. The 360 controllers work well (WHQL approved drivers) with Windows and are IMO the best of the pack. Comfortable and good quality.

I'm pretty sure the consensus on boards like srk is that the 360 controller dpad is even worse then the ps3 when it comes to precise input c/d?

The problem for me with the 360 controller's dpad is that it's one of the disc types that I hate for a vs fighter. It's not inaccurate so much as I just hate it for the purpose. I prefer discrete buttons.

Wired 360 controller for PC based games (btw the "games for windows" are amazing for new snapin control input). As everyone else said there's a deep seeded hate for the D-pad on the xbox controller. It's cheap, stupid, and no matter how many times you hit one direction it will interpret a movement in the other direction just to fsck you over. There's a 3rd party driver XBCD that worked great with Live for Speed. It allowed you to split the two triggers into independent axis input for a linear throttle/brakes.

Home Depot.. sells controllers? Wal-Mart sells $160 air tanks and $110 loaders for paintball. As I recall they once had a paintball gun in the $1000+ range listed on their website, I think it was one of the earlier Angels.

Ok but guys, I wanted a controller I could use for PS3/PC such a thing does not exist? Because if I can use a xbox controller on my ps3 but not my a ps3 controller on my pc its killing spree time. Also everyone is basically saying, yeah it sucks but it has drivers. Wtf is that really the best we get? *edit* I think he knows there's sixaxis drivers for Windows, the problem is they only work on 32-bit versions of Windows.
This is true, Vista64 has no underground drivers that I can find.
