I could use a re-invite now that my Adventurer Quest business is done.

I want to find the fucker who wrote the 'need 8 wood planks' and 'need 10 wood planks' quests and shove a lumber mill up his ass. Nothing like spending the rest of my natural born life gaining 9 XP an hour AND NOT GETTING ANY WOOD DROPS. I could be hunting grizzly bears for fun and profit, but I wanted to bang out a couple of quests. In short, I am a moron.

I just got those done too. Looking through west stats there's a later quest for 20 wood..... The whole quest system is a bit schizophrenic really; I'm in a dry spell at the moment where I can't actually do any of the jobs to get items for quests (Granite Mining is way off, Telegraph Poles should be doable once I ding, Saddles are a level or two away), so I'm just grinding out Orange Picking and Cow Branding for xp, which is really rather dull. Still, guess I'll money and xp grind for a while until I can do something, or there's space in a town.

This picture is all the resources used in forts, though it doesn't show the number needed.

Fort Resources

A lot of them are from fairly high end jobs. I think there's some advantages to waiting and then building a second town near the fort we want to capture. That gives us a base to work from when we're attacking / defending / building it.

I have quite a lot of some of those, I'll keep hoarding them more carefully now. Hope you don't need too many Union or COnfederate flags...

I'm almost exclusively mining iron these days, so we should be OK on that front. I also trade a fair deal when mining drops below 60.

I'm beginning to question the point of being a trader.  Yes, I can make money.  Yes, I get higher drop rates as an adventurer.  After I complete the Charletain set, money will be valueless and likely all be donated.

Is there any point in this game to be anything but a dueler, soldier, or builder?

I normally stop jobs when I go below 90% motivation, can you push it that low and still get good xp or cash rewards, or are you solely after the products?

Well it's not really a game that has a lot of end-game at the moment. However building forts takes substantial money and a lot of items which adventurers are best suited for. Other people seem to focus on working really high luck jobs with ideally 200 labor points excess to see if they can find unique drops. And failing that if you think duelling is more fun you could always save up and respec.

Builders can't build without money, so if your goal is to help build up towns it's just as useful to be an efficient cash generator as it is to be a builder yourself.

The overall "point" of the game is a bit up for interpretation IMO.   Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

Thanks for the input.

I think the addition of forts will help.  I also enjoy getting drops and the idea of hunting for unique stuff seems fun.  I willl be happy to donate nearly all the cash I get once I'm finished building my set, so playing that role in the "team" suits me fine.

Trammel gunsmith v. 4.0: Rusty dagger (bleh), Precise Shotgun (not so bleh)

Cool, I will buy this without joining as long as we know the surplus cash goes to Trammel treasury, I've heard that's what happens can anyone confirm?

FAKE EDIT: Actually it doesn't matter, cause it's not available unless I join but still anyone know about the above?

The treasury only gets like 5% of the purchase price or something.  You're much better off joining the town, buying it at the 75%-off discount, and donating the rest to the treasury yourself.

Then they might start telegramming other people! MOB RULE, EVERYONE IS A FOUNDER.

Just kidding. I say we get in a war with fucking everyone, cripple their builders from our one horse town so that no one has time to get resources for forts.

We're doing just fine, I have huge stockpiles, and I'll run my shit down to zero every 48 hours on the major resources. I'm sure our other builders will too.
