If we decide to go for extra towns (I think extra towns are weak but meh, game).  I am willing to shift about providing income.

I think rotating stock on a fixed schedule would be nice. A) So you know when the change is going to occur and don't travel to some town to get it. B) To mix things up and encourage saving.

Rotating stock or some mechanism for triggering a reroll (escort the trade caravan?) would be good. Having to develop an entire second or third town to get a wider selection of shirt colors is sort of  swamp poop .

I just wish stuff you sold to the town got added to that town's stock.  I've probably got a lot of gear I don't want that somebody else wouldn't mind seeing in our store.

I actually preferred it when the "action" icon wasn't animated. It had a certain elegance. The (badly) animated versions just bug me.

Yes.

At least they didn't animate the saloon, right? Otherwise I imagine with the repeating actions it would look like this:

Gunsmith should be done in 5 hours.  If anyone's building, go for the Town Hall please, gunsmith is covered.

My guess would be High Lander, he spent the better part of the weekend whining at me and getting told to get bent.  Probably pissed that I just blocked his telegrams after he got boring.

I have not been able to build anything. Any money i use is wasted, as i have been targeted rather relentlessly. I'm not really into calculating when i can, and cant build. So i have been doing quests, and loosing my money by the next time i log in.

I am starting to not have any fun anymore. And its simply because of the mechanics, i can't defend myself, and none of you can defend me. Loging in, just to cue up sleeping, is not very fun (lack of energy).

It's trivially easy to avoid losing your money in this game.  You're invulnerable for 48 hours from when you're KOed, and you're invulnerable when you're sleeping.

So queue up sleep at home after every job you do, and deposit your cash before heading out on another job.  And don't build unless you're lucky enough to actually get KOed, in which case do whatever the fuck you want for 48 hours.  Of course, I can't get KOed to save my life these days; I think they're all scared of me and my utterly non-combat build.  tongue

Also, I predict your post will be telegrammed out to all the Coppers by DB in short order as evidence of how they're winning the war.  Way to go, terrorist-lover.

All of those messages are timestamped. Just add 48 hours to your death message. We're not talking rocket science here.

Well, the problem is, i really only play on weekdays. That, and I'm not that married to bring tied to the game as far as "Must log in now to play because i now have a 48 hour window to do something".

Its really about the mechanics for me, not once have i attacked anyone, i have zero dual ability to speak of, and people attacking me are highly over leveled to the point of me doing maybe 16 points of damage, to their 48, that would be a shot. Its not even a deterrent!

Wasn't there supposed to be a Sheriff system? where if someone was targeted, you had to go through him first?

Dude.  Don't turn to the dark side.  You can queue up sleep twice in a row if you're gonna be gone all day.  That's if you don't subscribe.  Or just plan it better if you know you're gonna be gone to get knocked out on your terms.

That said the mechanics are totally retarded, I agree.

I know you're seeing this Dirtybirdy.  You better cut this shit out.  Reporting people is weak.  Until now we haven't done it.  But I'm pretty sure if we tried we could spam reports until some of your people are banned too.  If it comes to it, we'll start with you.

What this really means is, time for a new tasteless flag when I get back in, uh, a day or so?  Moron admins just said "5:24pm tomorrow", without mentioning what time zone--whatever Germany's in, I guess?

Ideas?

Well, the problem is, i really only play on weekdays.

So deposit all your money into the bank on Friday.  People might farm you for a little XP, but you won't lose any cash, and on Monday if you're lucky you'll be at the start of a 48 hour duel-free window.  Like schild said, the reports are timestamped.

And don't build if you aren't in one of those windows.  48 hours is two days, so you don't have to log in NOWNOWNOW to take advantage of it.  Just be aware of whether you're vulnerable or not.  If you're vulnerable, focus on jobbing, and deposit your cash after each 2-hour job.  If you're not, do whatever you want.

Only if you want to get permabanned IMO.  I'd go for something that's only tasteless if you think hard about it, and has plausible deniability.

Don't even think about winning the duels.  It's not the point and there's no upside to it.  If you do it right, duels are a minor to nonexistent deterrent.  You essentially just start to ignore them.  Doing it right means queuing a sleep at home after scheduling 2 hours of work.  Then the only time you're vulnerable is on the walk back to town (you have money then, but can be dueled).  If they duel you while you work, you just ignore it because you have no cash.  If they KO you, great.  Now you have 48 hours to do whatever.  If they miss the window you have 8 hours to spend 30 seconds logging on and depositing your cash.  If you have longer than 30 seconds, just cancel your sleep, go out and do it again.

I'm not asking anyone playing the game to be committed to poopsock levels of play. Have fun with it. I've left the town because I have a ton of cash and energy saved up that I need to burn through and will probably pick up that Fancy Tie. Plus I don't need town membership to use our hotel.  Ohhhhh, I see.

It does suck that there isn't a defensive perimeter or something we can put into place. But se la vie.
