Well you're one of the highest level characters on the server. You better get used to being a target.

I don't get the whole dueling thing.

How do you avoid dueling?

Be sleeping in a hotel.

On a less Lee Van Cleef note, I see that one of the classes you can pick is 'Mexican'.  That's awesome.  I wish more MMOs offered the Mexican class.

What. the. hell.

I get a quest to duel a thief.  I challenge thief but don't see any sort of duel at all.  It said, You cannot beat the thief.  I didn't do a thing.  So I try to click it again.  Same thing.  3 more times.

So now I lost all my cash ($250), I am out of rest points and out of health points.

I never even saw the duel screen.

Fuck this.

I also just got dueled. It seems, being part of a town, mean PvP consent.

Click the duel menu. Have to change your duel options and stuff.

Also check your reports and everything, should be a duel history in there somewhere.

I thought it was interactive.  It seemed interactive during the earlier quests/tutorials.

I guess it isn't.  Still, I should not be losing my cash to a quest duel, right?

Not unless you died during the duel.

Failed quest duels show up as reports in your Reports window. You can use that to analyze where the opponent is striking and change your tactics.

I died  because I kept dueling, thinking that it was a glitch, not noticing my health was dropping because the page didn't refresh.  I thought duels happened in real time like the early ones where it _seemed_ like I was clicking on different parts of the body of the guy I was dueling.

So duels are instant, preset things, and what you click on during the early duels in questing don't mean a thing?  Just dumb luck?

That sure would have been good to know beforehand.  Kind of disgusted with the game now, or with myself.  Going to take awhile to get to where I have enough energy to work so I can raise 10 to stay in a hotel.  Ugh.

I put in an appeal.  Wonder if I'll get a reset.

I had the same issue with that quest, Xan, although I don't think I lost the duel enough times to actually die from it.   sad  I agree it's not in any way intuitive until you figure it out.

Looks like our residences are almost done, and once you get into the town you can sleep in our hotel for free.  If you aren't already in the area, now might be a good time to start hiking, since it doesn't cost any energy to travel.

Grrr. The duelling system annoys me. Since we don't have a Mortician in the town, I can't revenge myself on the random dude who killed me in my sleep (ok, I fought back and almost won, but meh). What the heck do I need a Mortician in OUR town for when I'm going to kick ass in THEIR town? =P

I haven't left the area since I was a member of the town and dumped all my cash into it and then left town so someone else could come in.

I gained a little health and energy overnight, so maybe I can tan some deer or something.

God I'm having trouble getting the second deer hide for a quest and now he's given me another one that need 3 more when my motivation to do that job has dropped to 78. Oh well, I'm off to fish up trout for chump change and no experience.

I try not to do more than 2 2-hour blocks of anything at once.  The reward is too slim, otherwise.

You guys need to leave town so others can be invited in, otherwise you won't get more money from the other f13ers in the area.

$400 might actually be enough to finish the residences.  Then we can all be in the town at once!   ACK!

Invited Pezzle! I threw in enough money myself for another 2 hour block.

After we upgrade the Residences to 2 we should probably alternate between Residences and Town Hall.

Queued up the two hours of constructions on residences, will be doing them in about 9 minutes.

Also, whats town hall upgrades do?

Edit: Oh, and in any given day I have about 6-8 hours of construction as long as the funds are available, I only stop when productivity drops below 85%.

Edit 2: This is where my stats are right now:

I don't know about town hall i do know there is another rank, just under founder) for some sort of town council.

I bet if we upgrade the bank however, people can put in more than 80$ (personal) in there.

Quote
Town hall

The town hall is something of the gathering place for the town members. New construction projects are started here and new players are invited.

With each construction level of the town hall the other buildings can be constructed a bit easier. The difficulty is lowered by five points per level of the town hall. The maximum construction level of the town hall is 10.p

Also, in the town Treasury log:

Quote
On 3/18/09 at 11:10 PM     $ 4 received because of the sale of an item.

What happened there?

Town Halls lower the labor cost of all buildings so you can generate more construction points without having to go crazy with your Construction stats.

I need to look into that item sale...

Pezzle left. Who's next?
