If you see some guy named Kamen please kill him, it ain't me.

Anyway, I've created a character named Kamen West on world 8.  I'll give your town project my money after I make it.

In as "Gyoza."  Have money.  Working on feather.

Edit:  Also.  Looks like there's three towns already on the far right of the world.

Double Edit:  Just moused through all the 'zones.'  Those are the only three eastern towns in the whole thing so far.  So it could be that the farther west you go, the farther away from people you get.  Which would make sense, given the name of the game.

Are you talking about the Founder towns like Boston and New York or have player created towns started popping up already?

I found my fucking feather.  YEE HAW!

Unfortunately the next quest requires beans, which I'll need to gain a level or two to get.  I'm sort of tickled that I have to level up my Charisma to be able to pick beans.

Got 1 of 2 grains, still no feather. But I'm a loot fiend. Just found a necklace of +5 animal instinct.

Yeah those items that give +Stats are lethally good in the early game.

Wait until you have to get a Turkey.

After this next two hour shift I'll have enough money to fund a town. I'll be looking at locations that are one, two, or three grids west. Farther and it'll take 24 hours just to walk over there. I'm thinking something in the middle given that I hate being on borders.

I've got the Turkey quest but I'm like 20 labour points short of being able to hunt it. And that's after I spent almost everything on being able to Repair Goddammed Fences.  I think'll probably have to grind for a level or two before I have the points I need.

Here are the four plots I identified as possible good places to go. Each is varying distance from the east side. I think in the long run it isn't going to matter what plot we choose as we can't see the higher level stuff right away. It's all about how isolated you guys want to be at the start.

Option A: It'll take about $2000 starting cash to get the hotel up and running. Assuming someone with decent Construction, Leadership, and Repair (I think on that third one), you can do average 6 points of construction every half hour, and sometimes 7 if you're good at our level. Given there are 200 points to the hotel, that's 34 half-hours, or 2040 cash.

Option B: General Store only requires 100 Construction Points. With access to that, we can get cheap items (Donkey at $250), only requires 1020 cash to get started (Which between us all I know we have), AND the ability to sell (which will boost finances for hotel).  However sleeping may be an issue.

Keep in mind Founder's Town with hotels are only nearby Options 1 and 2. 3 and 4, there ain't nothing but the animals.

I planned on going builder guy, so I have no problem going straight into the hotel biz. But yes, somewhere to sleep may be nice. Heh.

I am also going to be good at construction (going heavy Charisma and then probably Dex)  Dunno if that will help much.

Any particular preference on location?

I like option 4, if only because the town is close to the center of the county map and that'll make navigation a little more pleasant.

As long as we'll have a hotel I like the idea of striking out west rather than sticking closer to the starter towns.

I don't care.  Pick a spot and I'll be there.

Milling grain now so I can get some more points to repair fences.  Turkeys will be after that.

Maybe being a worker?  I don't know.  I don't care about dueling so much, and aren't really sure about the other things.

I think 4 works too.

Level 7 here, with 150 to contribute (maybe more once we can sell). No real preference on location for our town.

Bank comes with the town. Town Treasury is separate in that you can either put it in personal savings or town Treasury.

Establishing Bat Country at 4!

So who all has high Construction, Repair, and Leadership? I've got more of the latter two but low on Construction due to no jobs requiring it. I could use an item that grants it...

It'll be 16 hours before the Town is founded. I'll get you invites. I'd head out once we know we have enough cash and building power to make the Hotel.

It takes 8 hours just to get out there.

I've got a leadership of 9 (5 base with an item for 4 more); my construction is only at 2, and my repair is at 4 but thats all from an item. However I have 2 attributes and 2 skills I'm currently holding; I can assign them wherever we need to get the town up and running.

I think it would be best that we assess our roles tomorrow or soonish so that we know before the trek over there what we're doing Exactly. It seems like without forethought, the entire town will be chock full of old west hillbillies with no marketable skills (goldpanning anyone?).

Construction is the most important one. Formula goes Construction x 3 + Repair + Leadership. Also keep in mind you can respec.

I'm planning to go Adventurer because I can see myself benefiting more from those bonuses (except for that shitty Foreign Hotel Bonus).

Still level 9 with Leadership 4, Repair 8 and Construction 1.  I'm 23 points away from being able to hunt Turkeys and the fastest way to get the skills would be to pump skill points into hiding which appears twice on the skill list. Right now I'm just mowing a pasture for experience.

My other quest is to buy a donkey. I need to belong to a town with a general store to be able to do that right?

I was leaning toward being a grizzled prospector, meself.  Although if someone else wants the gold-panning job I might go with mortician instead.   DRILLING AND MANLINESS

That's pretty much where the cock block begins with quests until you hit Lv. 10 and start getting class quests.

My character so far:
LEVEL: 8
STATS: Dexterity 4, Strength 2
SKILLS: Toughness 14, Aim and Shooting 7 (which sounds pretty useless when I think about it, considering that my weapon of choice at the moment is a broken bottle), Appearance and Repairing 5, Vigor, Dodging, Setting Traps and Fine motor skills 4
$163

Guess I'm pretty useless for the town and whatnot right now.
