World of Warcraft Client Patch 3.0.9

The latest test realm patch notes can always be found at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/patchnotes/test-realm-patchnotes.html

The latest patch notes can always be found at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/patchnotes/

Druid (Skills List / Talent + Glyph Calc.)

    * Ferocious Bite: This ability now only uses up to 30 energy in addition to its base cost.

Hunter (Skills List / Talent + Glyph Calc.)

    * Kindred Spirits (Beast Mastery): This talent now grants 20% pet damage at max rank.
    * Serpent’s Swiftness (Beast Mastery): This talent now grants 20% pet attack speed at max rank.

Pets

    * Lava Breath now reduces the target's casting speed by 25%, down from 50%.
    * Poison Spit now reduces the target's casting speed by 25%, down from 50%.

Mage (Skills List / Talent + Glyph Calc.)

    * Arcane Power now increases damage and mana cost by 10%, cooldown reduced to 1 minute. (Note: The spell is actually different in game and increases damage and mana costs by 20% with a 2 minutes cooldown. However it would probably be better to wait until servers are online to confirm that.)
    * Arcane Power and Presence of Mind now share a category cooldown. Arcane Power causes a 15 second cooldown. Presence of Mind, once consumed, causes a 1.5 second cooldown.
    * Arcane Flows now reduces the cooldown of Presence of Mind, Arcane Power and Invisibility by 15/30%.
    * Presence of Mind: The cooldown has been reduced to 2 minutes, (down from 3.)
    * Slow (Arcane): now increases cast time by 30%, down from 60%.

Glyphs

    * Glyph of Arcane Missiles -- Increases the critical strike damage bonus of Arcane Missiles by 25%. (Old - Increases the range of Arcane Missiles by 5 yards.)
    * Glyph of Mana Gem -- Increases the mana recieved from using a mana gem by 40%. (Up from 10%)
    * Glyph of Arcane Blast -- Increases the damage from your Arcane Blast buff by 3%. (Down from 5%)

Paladin (Skills List / Talent + Glyph Calc.)

    * The duration on all Seals has been increased to 30 minutes and can no longer dispelled.
    * Divine Plea: The amount healed by your spells is reduced by 50% (up from 20%) but the effect can no longer be dispelled.
    * Sanctified Seals: This talent no longer affects dispel resistance, but continues to affect crit chance.

Glyphs

    * Glyph of Holy Light -- Your Holy Light grants 10% of its heal amount to up to 5 friendly targets within 8 yards of the initial target. (Down from 20 yards, Tooltip text fix, was already hotfixed to 8 yards in game)
    * Glyph of Seal of Righteousness -- Increases the damage done by Seal of Righteousness by 10%. (Old - Reduces the cost of your Judgement spells by 10% while Seal of Righteousness is active.)

Priest (Skills List / Talent + Glyph Calc.)

    * Inner Fire duration has been increased to 30 minutes and can no longer dispelled.

Rogue (Skills List / Talent + Glyph Calc.)

    * Hunger for Blood (Assassination): Now increases damage 5% per stack, (up from 3%.)
    * Mind Numbing Poison now reduces cast time by 30%, down from 60%.
    * Mutilate damage will now do 20% increased damage against poisoned targets, down from 50%.
    * Slice and Dice: This ability now increases melee attack speed by 40%, up from 30%.

Shaman (Skills List / Talent + Glyph Calc.)
Glyphs

    * Glyph of Windfury Weapon -- Increases the chance per swing for Windfury Weapon to trigger by 2%. (Down from 5%)

Warlock (Skills List / Talent + Glyph Calc.)

    * Curse of Tongues: Now increases the casting time of all spells by 25% (Rank 1) and 30% (Rank 2), down from 50% and 60%.

Dungeons and Raids
The Obsidian Sanctum
Changed the color of the fissure in the Obsidian Sanctum to be more visually distinct.

User Interface

    * The “GM wishes to speak with you” alert/button, at the top of the screen, has been changed so that addons do not obscure it.
    * A clickable chat message has been added that duplicates the GM alert/button.
    * When a GM wishes to speak with you the Help Request minibar button will glow.
    * For additional notes on Lua and XML changes please visit the UI & Macros forum .

Bug Fixes

    * Fixed an issue where players using nVidia 3D glasses were unable to see spell cooldowns.
    * Fixed a software mouse cursor bug that was causing the mouse curser to disappear from view when over certain UI elements.
    * Fixed a player movement error in which other players were appearing to move erratically when traveling beside them.

Coming out this week apparently.

I love the smell of facepalm in the morning

tl;dr version:

Across the board: Caster PVP buff, all slowing effects fuck casters less

Druid: PVP burst nerf.
Hunters: Mild BM buffs.
Mages: Harsh nerfs to arcane's PVP burst (totally had it coming)
Paladins: DP nerf goes live immediately, quality of life improvement, less vulnerable to offensive dispellers in PVP (Overhauling the dispel system has been a long-term goal of Blizzard's; this is merely one step)
Priest: See Paladins
Rogue: PVP burst nerf, pve buff.
Warlock: See Across the Board, but noteworthy and hilarious for being a nerf to the worst pvp class in the game.

Sarth: Shadow fissures are now blue, not red and hard to see under DK AOE.

This was a problem they made WORSE in the last patch, as Warlock's Rain of Fire now has the same floor graphic as DK's D&D.   awesome, for real

I'll ditto the "About time" on inner fire.

Wow, Arcane nerfage.

That feels like something Ret Pallies have been getting the last three or four patches.

Hunters: Mild BM buffs.

Actually, if the wording on SS is taken literally, that is, if all the talent does now is increase pet attack speed, and only pet attack speed, they just completely raped BM hunters. Since this is blizzard, gotta wait and see.

I read it as a buff to pet attack speed.  Currently the talent buffs the hunter's speed 20% but only 10% for the pet.   If people are freaking out are it's because they're doing too literal a reading of the notes.  Reading all of them in that same sense means that Druid's ferocious bite now costs 30 energy but does nothing.

Arcane has always been the gimp tree and I'm glad to see Blizz has knocked it back to it's former state.

The arcane nerfs look like they will really only hurt PVP, not PVE. If anything I think it gets a PVE boost with that arcane missiles glyph change.

The only thing is I don't know how bad that arcane blast glyph buff nerf will hurt - my mage is still sitting at 70.

My Rogue just shed a tear over that Mutilate hit.

I'm not sure how much that 30% drop is going to impact the optimal Arena Build that was going around.

Pretty much how Rets feel.

Problem is that it's our only damage tree.

But yeah, feel our pain. Or, when a patch like that happens three more times.

<---- Warrior is already at level 74. Actual single target DPS might be nice.

Hell, buffs instead of nerfs once in a while will be a hell of a nice change.

This is pretty much what a mage friend of mine said. Not concerned, only really affects PvP.

Does anyone actually arena anymore?

I hope this really fixes the problem cause it's been driving me nuts. This doesn't describe the problem accurately at all though, as through testing I found the mouse cursor disappearing due to draw distance, not the ui elements. On any area of the screen more than a couple 100 feet away, my mouse cursor disappears. If I turn and look down at the ground, then it comes back.

Lots do, but I don't think the numbers that did in the first four seasons are into it anymore.  Blizzard is probably telling themselves it's because people are still leveling alts and not because 'welfare epics' are out.

I still have fun in battlegrounds and wintergrasp, arena teams usually don't want spriests of course...but while my spec may suck for pvp i still enjoy it for an occasional romp and idk what people are saying about welfare epics being gone because you can still get a lot o nice purple gear from honor alone and then fill the rest of the slots out with archavon loot or badge gear.

Mages/ret pallies though...yeah, they made pvp not fun. The moment everyone actively avoids two classes is when you know there are issues.

My Curse of Tongues! Those bastards!

I honestly can't think of a time when I actually used Curse of Tongues. Maybe once when I just wanted to see how much it would affect casting time. Is there some fight where CoTongues is useful that I don't know about?

Instant vs Instant, with pet and dots involved.

Essentially you'd DoT them, CoT them, and spam CoT every time they removed it. Since your damage output wasn't reliant on you burning GCDs on active damage skills at this point, you win that fight until they decide to let CoT stay.

This was also back when seduce nuking was all the rage.

I used COT all the time against healers and elemental shaman (sometimes mages, maybe in duels, but eff duels), it was very powerful in pvp, and probably still is. Think of it this way, a COT on a holy paladin is a 'soft mortal strike' (reducing healing throughput), with the added bonus of making their heals easier to interrupt. Of course holy pallies get two instant heals now, so meh... I'd still use it on them instead of any other curse.

As an aside, seduce nuking never worked as alliance [since 95% of horde had a 30-second immunity], and it was kinda neutered when diminishing returns were introduced, iirc. :p

Even with DR, it was still pretty brutal. It was just fear nuking, without out of range issues. Because anything I feared LOVED to either run out of shadowbolt range or break LOS mid cast.

But this was also back when negative resists caused stupid shadowbolt damage. Ah, oldschool locks.
