Surely most of the men on f13 wore anoraks.
A whowhat now? Sam, I must've lived in SF during a warm spell, I didn't catch it being 19 degrees F.

I laughed. We did stupid fashion when we were kids, but at least we wore fuckin' coats!

I should get back to nature, too. You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer. Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached. Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

Strange. I read on the internet ages ago that was invented by the guy who wrote Grey's Anatomy. I don't know what The Soup is but I'm trying to wrap my head around the fact that you watch Oprah. Do you really?
Nah, I've never really watched Oprah. My sister was the one who told me that (she watches The Soup as well), I don't think she watches Oprah either. Also, I never wear pants or heavy coats except when it is cold enough to snow. I just don't let it bother me, and I prefer cold to heat anyway. It makes me nauseous when I'm wearing heavy clothing and am outside, then go into a heated space.

Aww. You are so dainty. You should wear pants, though. You know, to keep your fragile bits safe and warm.

My definition of cold is fine. But if you lived in SF during the summer, you must surely have heard the fragile out-of-staters complaining about it being freezing cold when it was 60 degrees out. Those people are everywhere and it drives me up a wall. Happily it sounds like you wouldn't have been one of the fragile ones.

60 degrees isn't cold, it is simply lack of enough warm. Said another way, 60 degrees in the summer absolutely sucks.

The weather from SF north along the coast into canadia is perfect imo. Though I do prefer the winters here in the NE.

I like to keep the inside of my house at around 65 degrees, unless it is summer.

I used to keep my place at 65 in the winter, but living in my ghetto apartment, which was tiny and cramped and filled with electronics, kinda changed that a bit. Now I like it at 72! I'm trying to re-learn wearing layers indoors in the winter, I'm not a big fan of wearing clothes around the house :)

Our heat is set to 65 in the winter, but we turn it off completely once it gets to the 60s outdoors. We only crank on the AC if it's >85 in the house.

After that first $400+ bill for a single month of heat, you learn to deal with it real quick though. Right?

One month it spiked to $350, it's been about $250/mo. But yeah. I didn't pay for heat at the apartment.

About 68 in the winter and off when it gets even slightly warm. It stays really warm upstairs so usually around this time of year, we turn it off at night, too. I hate both forced heat and AC and would love to not use it at all. Unfortunately, it's not possible where we live.

I'm guessing the humidity doesn't normally hover around 90% in these areas. The comfortable temperature range decreases dramatically when it does.

I dunno what weirds me out more; guys with pants down to their knees, or guys in skinny jeans. I'm gonna say both are wrong.

Skinny jeans only sort of work on tall, skinny dudes, I guess. It's worse though if you're fat, or hell, even normal sized, and trying to pull that shit off. That's not even that attractive on similarly sized women.

I like relaxing on the weekends in my slim jeans you bastards.
Now leather pants, those are a fashion travesty.

Hey, I got slim jeans too.. just not skinny Peter Pan jeans. And I'm a tall skinny bastard myself, so I could probably pull it off.. they're just not comfortable. Basic rule of thumb though - if you don't even slightly resemble Johnny Ramone, then stay away. This guy looks sort of normal. This guy needs to go back inside. [edit] On the other hand, the guy with the baggy jeans behind him looks like a damn fool too.

That first guy looks like a hipster douchebag. Whereas the second guy might be wearing tight brown jeans, but at the same time he has a mustache that can't be stopped.

These are hipster douchebags. What's even more stupid though (and I like Pharell btw) is getting skinny jeans in a long size and sagging them.

How did they get this mixed up? Was it the fault of the spell checker? It broke my reading focus when a sentence did not make sense when they put the wrong word in there.

Ah, the easy ones. Don't forget effect and affect, it's so rare to see them used properly you just have to ignore it.
I've worn both skinny jeans and leather pants, but that was when I was skinny (6', 29" waist) and I had the official reason for wearing such things (as does Pharell).
For middle-aged guys...it's a dark straight leg or gtfo. Though I do wear a kinda baggy traditional light blue levi for working around the house. My pants of choice are wool tweed, though.

wool tweed What's it like being 80? Is there always the scent of pennies in the air? I should say, really, that the only other people that wear wool tweed are hipster douchebags, and I really don't think you're a hipster douchebag.

I've got a nice Harris Tweed jacket right now, and once I have some money again, I'll be going more in that direction. For reference, I'm talking three-piece suits like this: I'd like to push it even more Edwardian. Nice thing about working in a library is that it doesn't look out of place. And be careful with hipster douchebag talk, you have affliction attire

My sister worked in a library for 15 years or something. It didn't drive her to tweed! Also - wool is itchy. I hate wool.
Wait. I like wool when it's cashmere sometimes, but only on my hands and feet.
