I've been catassing a load of alts up to 60 with the triple XP hax so didn't spend any time on the AH. I now have a mostly greens* from every level range from 10-50 but have no idea if it's selling. I know that if people are doing triple hax too then they probably won't bother because you get through levels so quick but have you noticed an influx of low levels again on your servers? I'll DE some of them probably - although will wait until after the 3.0.8 Enchanting changes but don't know whether to vendor the rest or AH them. Suggestions? *Apart from one successful night when 3 blues dropped for me in the space of about an hour! EDIT: Thinking about it, I guess the Enchanting changes might get a load of people taking it up for the first time so may be worth selling them then. Don't know how widesweeping the changes will be.

Greens don't sell on my server except to folks too foolish to know better and there aren't a lot of them anymore. I just send all greens to my Enchanting alt and DE them for the mats as those still sell pretty well for certain ranges. (Dream and Illusion dust in particular). Shards are the only things I trash since they sell so infrequently that it's not worth paying the constant reposting fees to the AH.
As far as the changes go, it looks like they're just altering the ridiculous material req's of the 70-80's enchants, so those low level dusts and essences will still have the same demand they always did from alts/ twinks. Am I missing something else?

Perhaps it is just the 70-80 ones but I got the impression from one report that all enchants were going to have their ingredients revisited.

All I know is from MMO-Champ, which can be found here That compiled list is just LK enchants. I've been in the woods for 5 days, so that's all I know.

I think it's only the Northrend stuff that's being changed. It's due to Dust being the limiting factor in most enchants for most people, while shards are running cheaper than essences (Dream shards are going for as little as 4g on my server). The changes rebalance the costs on a lot of recipes to make shards the limiting reagent.
The oversight was also compounded by the fact that tailoring requires significant amounts of dust to level past 415, further driving up dust prices in comparison to other enchanting mats.

EVERYTHING is selling for 4g on my server.
Frozen orbs that were selling at 75g are now at 20, Eternal Fire has dropped below 20, and the Siren's Tears that I started farming a few days ago and selling above 200g are now down to below 125g and FALLING RAPIDLY.
Honestly, the chinese aren't very good at helping themselves out. Undercutting by 5g when 1c will do is just fucking ludicrous.

Prices are falling on all the servers because the people that want the stuff already have it. On ER titansteel was going for 380g a few weeks ago, now if you watch you can find it for 150g. Frozen Orbs haven't dipped below 70g yet, luckily. Frostweave down from 35g/stack to 28g.

Frostweave is probably going to stay high since it turns out that compared to netherweave and runecloth, it has a horrible droprate. You need the tailoring gathering perk to get anything out of frostweave drops, and tailoring needs so much bloody cloth....

This. Frostweave drops have been absolutely terrible compared to netherweave. My mage made it halfway through Howling Fjord and only has 2 stacks.

It picks up later, when there's lots more humanoids and undead. They're trying to avoid the flood of Netherweave that was BC, I think, and probably overtuned it too much.

I started leveling a mage and found a real dearth of any worthwhile greens on the AH. The ones I did see were going for 10-30g each.
If it's decent, it'll sell, if it's not, DE it and sell the mats.

The tailoring perk must be really fucking good then. I'm half way through HF too but have 4 stacks in the bank and have levelled my talioring and first aid up 15/20 points each too. (Yeah, I know it's not much but it's still another 4 stacks worth). I recall that I found the Netherweave drop rate in HP was crap but got much better in later Outland zones (so much so that I'm inundated in the stuff now). Have discovered that despite my belief that Inscription is not a very good profession, I've made 50g from it over the last couple of days and that's from selling a couple of minor glyphs. I don't think I've even reached 100 yet on my scribe.

Shards are the only things I trash since they sell so infrequently that it's not worth paying the constant reposting fees to the AH.
Enchanting mats don't pay posting fees at the auction house. That's why I never mark down enchanting mats. Someday, they will sell. Until then, it costs me nothing to continually repost them at the upper end of the market price range.

I seem to recall being unable to list them at one point in the distant past due to not having enough cash for the reserve. Then again I also remember being able to vendor them, too.

I can't stand my server. 1200 queue tonight and you can't make any gold because everything is undercut 15 times before it ends up back in your mailbox.
People were selling Frozen Orbs last night for 15g in Trade chat.........

That would be a welcome change to the 125g+ they're still going for on my server. Titanium bars are 20g but somehow frostweave is at 20 and seemingly about to go lower. I also have all sorts of problems trying to sell enchanting mats and herbs. Podunk servers have really strange yet pricey economies.

BTW, I just noticed this in the patch notes: Players may now create death knights on any realm once they reach level 55. WELCOME, INCREDIBLE NEW INFLUX OF DKS TO ALREADY OVERCROWDED SERVERS. It's 11:15 server time right now and we have a queue of 800. Allow people to make DKs on my server to tool around with, please.

The last thing Whisperwind needs is more deathtards. They're a plague on my server and 90% of them don't have a fucking clue what they're doing.
Bah, the only moderately redeeming feature of the class was the one per account. Now...just bah. Bah I say, bah.

To give you an idea of how much prices vary, frozen orbs go for 30-35g on my server.

Dragon's Eyes are the biggest cash cow on my server and don't look to be seeing a major decline anytime in the fairly near future. Being limited to 1 per day per JC from the JC daily tokens means the supply can never get crazy enough to send the price into freefall for the time being. They are highly desireable for the BoE epic JC rings and necks as well as the BoP JC prismatic gems for JC's who want to spend their daily tokens on recipes first.
They started out at 500g+ when there were relatively few max level JC's around and even now that a majority of the server population is max level and JC is the FOTM profession (for good reason) they still go for 350g+ and I don't see them getting to much lower anytime soon.
Cut gems and Titansteel have begun to nosedive now though, with Titansteel bars going for only 100-120g and people are selling their cd for 25g or less when only a few weeks ago bars were selling for 300g+ and people could sell cd's for 75g+ with ease. It's so bad that selling your titanium ore/bars and eternals is more profitable than making titansteel now.
I can't claim any first hand knowledge about it myself, but I am under the impression skinning is making a killing so far in WoTLK if your willing to go grind the leather/furs/scales.

That's changing soon. Supposedly in this coming patch they're adding a Brilliant Glass equivalent that's going to work like: Put in a Frozen Orb and some green quality gems, get out a Dragon's Eye and some blue quality gems. No cooldown. Dragon's Eyes are a broken component of the game right now... the only way non-JCs can get them is to buy them at exorbitant prices or beg/plead/fellate a guildie into giving you something that takes them days to produce (I speak of needing 4 eyes for the tanking rings).

Skinning is a goldmine. Arctic Furs, Nerub Chitin, etc all drop well, sell great. Plus the leg addons I'd make whenever people undercut my Furs sell well. Paid for epic and cold weather flying on 2 toons.

Whisperwind is also a full server with 500-1000 queue prime too. Still, if you are checking the price during the week it will always be higher. They drop drastically on the weekends in my experience.

FO prices vary and I don't exactly check them on a regular basis. When I've actually had to buy, they've been 80ish. When I see somebody spamming trade with offers to sell, they've been 80ish.
You might do better if you really haunt the AH, but their average Whisperwind price is 80ish. I'm curious if they do vary more on the weekends, since I was (sorta) watching them over Xmas break, which was vacation for me and somewhat atypical of the usual price cycle in the AH. However, I suspect that 80 is a good average for my server. I'd like them to be less, but casual observation suggests otherwise. I've had good luck getting them in heroics, but my warrior is about to go on a titansteel crafting spree and my personal supply will vanish quite quickly.

On Eldre'Thalas, Frozen Orbs go for less than 10g lately.
I have close to a dozen, and have not rolled on one in over a month as I have no use for them at this time.
Frostweave sells for upwards of 20g a stack (which is a nice change from netherweave which was better to make bandages out of and vendor than AH).
Saronite used to be the big seller, but everyone is a miner it seems and now it goes for 30g a stack for ore.
I assume skinning is the place to make real cash on our server though, as all the leatherworkers who powerlevelled it for Drums in sunwell and dont have skinning need mats to level it for WOTLK.
Alchemy is a waste of a profession atm as the mat cost is higher than the potion/elixir/flask. Takes about 125g in mats to make one stack of mana potions, which sell for 50.

If your server has cheap frozen orbs, buy as many as you are willing to speculate your gold on. They are only going to go up in price after the patch (JC combine + leatherworking needing them now for their good armour patches).

What works pretty well on EU Neptulon but gets nerfed next patch is disenchanting cobalt recipies, like Reinforced Cobalt Chestpiece.
Cost: 2.5g x 4 bars/ores = 10g. Disenchanted mats worth: (3.5 dust x 3.2g x 75% + 1.5 essence x 28g x 22% + 1 shard x 25g x 2%) = 18.39g. Borean Leather -> any recipe requiring 8 leathers also generates profit, +93% of invested amount at the current prices.
Combine it with scrolls of random enchantments, like Super Stats on Chest (118% extra profit) and you can get rich pretty easily :P
Have fun crashing the dust market!
